Summary
The creature rising from the depths, right towards him, is like a nightmare crawling up from the darkest corners of his mind. The cold of the water wraps around him like a vice, but it's nothing compared to the ice that locks his limbs as his eyes fixate on the slow, dreadful ascent of the thing.
At first, it's only a pale blur, the water around it shimmering faintly, but as it draws closer, its form takes shape - terrifying, monstrous. Its massive, elongated body, the size of at least two horses, is ghostly white, so translucent he swears he can see the dark water swirling behind it. It ends into a long tail, fawned out like white silk. Long, webbed fingers reach up, towards him, and he moves his legs faster, whimpering and sputtering bubbles around him.

Summary
