Light that he will never see. Light that will never wash over him.
Reprieve cannot be granted in places where light does not reach them.

Cyno never treated Tighnari with anything other than tenderness and consideration, completely at odds with Collei's preconceived notions of him, and it was just...bewildering.
And even still, Collei just couldn't bring herself to trust him fully. Trusting got you separated from your parents. Trusting got you tortured and experimented on. Trusting could put you in the ground.
Therefore, she remained wary and distant, avoiding eye contact with Cyno most of the time and certainly never getting close enough for him to touch her.
She would never let him touch her again.

Summary
Crushed by an injury-induced miscarriage, Cyno and Tighnari are forced to lean on each other through the cruel hailstorm of grief. It isn't always easy, and the process is by no means linear, but with the help of an unexpected miracle or two, they slowly, steadily learn that the path to a happy ending often passes through the valley of hardship, and that patience is most definitely a virtue.
