Adora feels her cheeks burning, and wishes she could blame the mid-morning sun. “Hey, Catra,” she replies weakly. “Nice—” face? Eyes? Skin? That’s a lot of skin. Everything sounds wrong— “swimsuit. Too?”
Thank God Finn is under the water.
Catra leans back, basking in the sun. Rivulets of water trail down the curve of her body, down to where her slight stretch draws Adora’s eye, to her hip, to her waist, to her stomach, to her—
Eyes.
Adora snaps back to her eyes. Which are still open. And still looking at her.
Oh, no.
Summer is meant to be a time to relax and recover. That’s what Adora’s heard, at least. But with a calendar chock-full of activities for a rambunctious twelve-year-old, a full-time job to pay the bills, and a husband whose idea of “helping” is finding more jobs for her to do around the house, Adora is officially drowning.
For the first time in years, Hordak does something to help. He hires a local college senior to be Finn’s nanny, for when Adora can’t “keep up”. It’s not her fault he chose the hottest woman on Earth.

Adora’s voice was cracklier than before. “Okay. I know this is even more dumb, but I—I just wanted to tell you—character growth moment. It’s been, like, an hour, and the mouse is still out here, in the same spot. I, um, I think it’s dehydrated. It was over ninety degrees today, and the city is still, um. Pretty sticky?” Adora paused for a moment, taking an audible deep breath. “I’m bringing it some water. And I’m… I’m terrified. Of it. I’m terrified of the mouse. I—” Another shaky breath. Her voice suddenly dropped to a horrified whisper. “Oh my God, I’m scared of a mouse.”
There was a long silence, and then:
Third new message. Received—
Catra ended the call. She couldn’t breathe. Trembling with unvoiced laughter, she checked her call log.
Seven. Seven missed calls.
After going on her first ever hiking date, Catra barely made it into bed before she passed out. Daylight brought with it a few unexpected things.
Waking up early, for one; waking up feeling rested, for another; and waking up to… a slew of voicemails? From Adora?
What the fuck did she miss?

Summary
There's a yawn from somewhere above, soon followed by a tired, gravelly, practically husky voice. "Glimmer, fuck… What the fuck is going— oh, hey."
Adora's attention is immediately drawn away from Glimmer and toward the owner of that voice. Standing there in the door frame is none other than Glimmer's date.
Adora's stomach instantly does somersaults.
Of course the woman Glimmer brought home is here too. Of course she's stunning. Even in the dark, it's clear she's got sharp features and bright eyes to match her unreasonably attractive voice. She tilts her head to the side as if she's still trying to make sense of what she's witnessing. Right, she's taking in this horrifyingly humiliating predicament.

Determined to somehow adjust to life as an amputee, Adora is ill-prepared for the world that awaits her.
That includes the struggles that come with relearning how to move around, the social pain of trying to interact with strangers, and falling flat on her face in front of Catra, Glimmer’s positively stunning fuckbuddy.

Jaw-dropping. Made starting an incomplete fic so worthwhile I've literally gushed to my mother about it. Author is obsessed with pasta (relatable) and all of the characters are hot, dumb or both. Every moment feels so in character it makes me want to scream (in a good way). I cannot hype this story up enough. I would make pamphlets for this fic (if I could graphic design). I would draw fanart (if I could draw). I would write fanfic of this fanfic (if I thought I could match its vibes). I hope InErosion lives a long and fulfilling life and this fanfic is the reason they'll reach their afterlife of choice.
