Summary
Alex finally agrees to go Luke's favourite climbing gym with him but at the last moment he cancels, leaving Alex climbing with the (very cute) gym employee who taught him how to climb during the one night of the week that the Queer Crush group - a group of climbers made up entirely of queer people - use the gym, and Alex ends up making new friends and joining a community of people he never knew he needed.

“ Julieeee,” Luke whined in that voice that made her forget that he was actually 17 and not five, “why don’t you talk to meee?”
“Because I am in class, Lucas.” She ground out, no real bite in her tone. Hopefully.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him hop off her poor classmate’s desk and bend over hers, looking at her calculus. “What are those?”
Without thinking, she responded with: “They are my crocs.” Oh, God. Just like her ghost bandmates, Vine might be dead, but the references definitely were not. Just that once, she regretted watching so many Vines with Flynn when they were in middle school.

“It’s alright. We can walk,” Arthur says.

“Merlin. This is our destiny. You and me and a new golden age. It was foretold, wasn’t it?”
“People have expectations,” Merlin sighs. “And you meet them. Obviously. Look at you. But I’m not—I’m not what people want from a Merlin of legend.”
“No, you’re much better groomed.”
“So that’s a ‘no’ on the Great Beard Experiment of 850?”(Arthur awakens in the modern era to bring back a Golden Age. He makes himself a media darling and realizes, after everything that can go wrong with that does, that he needs to find Merlin, since Merlin doesn't seem interested in finding him first. He tracks Merlin down, only to learn Merlin was in a car accident and is permanently disabled.)

Summary
Someone in the Camelot (Merlin) has rooted out a spy on the council. This anonymous person (who is obviously Merlin) put this accusation into a long letter, full of evidence from a thorough investigation and infiltration of the spy's circle within the staff. Arthur is remarkably impressed with this mystery detective (again, Merlin) and becomes set on uncovering their identity.
Merlin didn't think things would get out of hand. He only wanted to get rid of the spy publicly and legally, so he forewent the magic and decided to conduct a counterintelligence mission for months to gather evidence the old-fashioned way—like anyone would! But suddenly Arthur is searching for him, and magic or not, he learned a long time ago to stay in the shadows.
George is so tired. It is so obvious. King Arthur is disappointingly unobservant, and George cannot take this much longer.

A flash of terribly familiar golden light filled the clearing, a deafening boom sent the knights flying backwards, and then, at last, a pair of blue eyes opened once more.
And they were met in return with the sight of shimmering gold eyes.
As it dawned on everyone what exactly had just happened, Arthur’s battle-proven instincts kicked in and overtook his petrified mind once more, playing out his body’s natural response to any worst-case scenario:
Grab Merlin and run.

Alternatively: After a ritual goes disastrously wrong, Merlin's magic has been transferred to Arthur, who is still unaware that Merlin has magic in the first place. Believing himself to be a danger to everyone around him, Arthur sets out to live the rest of his life in self-imposed exile.
