Summary
The fight against the demon king Urizen was a complete disaster and Nero is convinced that it's his fault. Believing that Dante died just so that he could escape after his miserable failure, his anger and frustration are threatening to boil over. When he stumbles across an abandoned pub on his way back, he decides that a drink can't hurt. Maybe a bit of alcohol will calm his nerves and help dull the overwhelming storm of emotions. He doesn't plan for it to escalate from one glass to an entire bottle of whiskey. He certainly doesn't plan for Nico to find him slouched on the floor, drunk and miserable and on the verge of tears.

Or: Nero doesn't know how to deal with failure and decides that drinking is a good coping mechanism. It's not.
