Dan had always hunched and folded inwards, masking his height because he never felt six foot three. He only occupied about four inches somewhere in his small intestine, and all the other flesh and bone felt superfluous. His therapist recommended exercise, his doctor prescribed physiotherapy, and in the process, he found himself. And, to his eternal delight, discovered he could pick up Phil, and even squat with him.
Based on the latest phodcast episode in which Dan dropped the sickest bespoke fic prompt: "sometimes I do Phil squats and he hates it."

He liked to analyze those dreams the day after, sitting with Dan on the couch and telling him about the monsters that hunted him the night before. Monsters that seemed quite silly in the day light, ridiculous even. And they would laugh about it and Dan would call him a spoon or a spork with a fond smile and that would be the end of it.
But sometimes, the dreams were different.'

After getting an accidental bloody nose, Dan remembers how mesmerized he is by his own blood. Sure, he's been self-harm free for years now (with the help of his lovely boyfriend, Phil), but the night that he has dubbed "The Red Wedding: Dan Howell Edition" changes things.
He figures that he should probably tell Phil how he's feeling and how badly he wants to see red again, but Phil's going on a trip to Germany for a week and Dan doesn't want to bother him so he decides to wait until Phil returns.
That turns out to be a poor decision on Dan's part.Warnings for: graphic descriptions of blood, self-harm, and depression. There's also some swearing, alcohol, and mentions of sex.

Summary
He told Sirius he'd give him time, and he knows that. The thing is, he's had two months of Sirius gently shutting the conversation down when it comes to telling people about them. Surely two months is enough time. Also, he did say there was 'no point' in telling James about them. Sirius' best friend, his brother, and there's no point?
Remus has a right to be upset about that.
The more he thinks about it, dwells on it, the more he realises that he needs to give Sirius some more credit. Yeah, he's not ready to tell James yet but, Merlin, Sirius is the best person Remus knows. He's scared. Of course he's bloody scared, with the upbringing he's had.
When they're alone, he takes every available opportunity to make Remus feel like the most important person in the world. He knows Sirius by now, he should know that Sirius needs real time to think on this. They need to have a real conversation about it.
That can wait, though. They shouldn't be ending the day like this.
Shit.
He needs to go and apologise.
