At that moment, the elevator grinds to a stop with a worrying creak. They both turn their heads towards the door expectantly.
The lights in the elevator flicker out, plunging them into darkness.
Ryouma pats his pocket for his packet of candy cigarettes and fumbles for a piece. The sound is loud in the absolute dark. “Ouma,” he says dryly, “I know you want answers from me, but I think this has gone a little far.”
AU where there’s an elevator and Hoshi Ryouma, on his way to meet with Toujou, gets stuck in it with Ouma for seven hours.
This changes things.

“Osamu. Shoot.” Mori’s voice crackled through and it was silence and screaming all at once—a sound he had not heard in an age. That tone, the initiation. He didn’t even breathe as his muscle twitched and fired. There’d been a head there a moment before. Now he was just looking into a skull, shattered into a million pieces.
The blood dripped down his cheek and it was so familiar, so crushingly familiar, that seeing out of both eyes was dizzying.

“What did they do to you?” Zoro asks, and there’s this finality to it, as though if Sanji were to deny him one last time then he would never ask again.
Sanji reaches a hand up and runs it through his hair. It’s such a simple movement and yet every time he goes to do it, there is this brief yet heart stopping beat of fear where he expects his fingers to meet metal. Every night when he falls asleep, there is this horror lurking on his subconscious, this deep, primal dread that maybe he’ll wake up and everything has just been a dream, a fevered hallucination conjured up to attempt to deal with his imprisonment.
Sometimes, when one of the crew reaches out for him, Sanji will flinch away.
“What did they do to me?” he echoes, staring out over the ocean. “They did enough.”

Summary
“Oh! Did you grow up eating this, Sanji? You’re from the North Blue, right?”
There is a brief moment where Sanji considers strangling the little doctor, as he can feel the focus of everyone on the ship land squarely on him.
Law’s eyes narrow at that, and Sanji can see them briefly flick in the direction of where Franky and Brook are now bemoaning their lack of knowledge about his background, and then slowly move back until they were focused on him instead.
Oh. This was a mistake.
Trafalgar Law has the weirdest accent he's ever heard, and is clearly hiding something. Sanji is determined to get to the bottom of it.The Straw Hats' chef speaks the Northern language like no one else Law has ever heard, and Law is intent on picking that mystery apart.
