It was scarce that he found a point that his father could not find a single way to counter. Whether or not this instance was simply due to lacking the effort to shoot something back towards his son, Zagreus preferred not to question, as he claimed his own spot next to him.
The two cast their lines in silence, Zagreus admiring their bobbers that float at the top. They jiggle upon the surface of the lake, before the water stills once more. There were no guarantees that a single thing would be drawn to either hook, but he had learned to recognize the bite well. Zagreus presumed he’d feel a lot more apologetic in regards to the activity, if it weren’t for the knowledge that an afterlife was promised even to mere creatures of the deep, and the fact that a lake could only offer so much.
The prince knew confinement like he knew how to draw a sword. The life of an aquatic beast could not be so different from his own.

Persephone, for the time being, is off with her mother upon Olympus, in an attempt to somehow reconcile. Zagreus, in the meantime, will finally be given that father-son fishing trip once vaguely discussed, hoping to achieve the same goal.
