Hands shaking harsher than a ride along an uneven country road strewn with deep potholes.
They'd be scared of what could possibly be going on in this man's head – a darkness clouding the Dutchman's mind, only rivalled by a black hole's nothingness.
It was just him, all alone, leaned against an old car, watching the stars as he wished for another one's life.

Bookmarker's Notes
After a few minutes, he gave up and sat down on the bed. Tears started pouring down his cheeks. His hands pulled at his hair, and his breathing began to mimic a hummingbird’s wings. Victor looked away from the devastated skater in front of him. He unlocked the phone and pressed the contact his partner had spent so many nights talking to. It only rang a moment before someone picked up; the male on the other end had a calm tone. Victor was ready to confront the Yuuri about the unknown caller.

AHHH, THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN I EVEN IMAGINED
----
He did wish they’d gone without trying to play fetch, though Victor had probably lost more dignity than Yuuri in the process. When Yuuri didn’t chase after the ball Victor tossed for him, he tried to demonstrate, crawling on all fours and holding it in his mouth. Though Yuuri had done his best to look disinterested, he couldn’t quell his amusement at watching Victor wiggle like he was wagging a tail, smiling around the ball, his eyes sparkling.
When Victor dropped the ball in front of him and looked up expectantly, Yuuri couldn’t resist catching him off guard by licking a wet stripe up the side of his face.
///
Going to the basket of Makkachin’s toys, Yuuri pulls out the first thing he finds: a stuffed fox with a squeaky inside. [...]
He doesn’t realize until the door swings open that he’s surrounded by bits of shredded fluff and faux fur.
-> I just knew it had to be makkachin's fav toy from that sentence on
///
Yuuri doesn’t sense something is wrong until it’s too late.
One moment Victor is on the other side of the cobblestone street, and then he’s gone. Yuuri looks around frantically, darting from one side of the road to the other. He hadn’t been distracted for that long. [...]
///
“Yuuri,” Victor says, then laughs into Yuuri’s hair. “I feel weird calling you that”
“If helps, I used to have a dog named Victor.”
“Really?”
“And he was a poodle.”
“You’re kidding.”
“I’ve sort of…worshipped you since I was twelve.”

I loooove Yurio and Yakov in this one 😭 <3
SPOILER AHEAD!!
Yakov clapped his shoulder. ‘Will we see you at the Grand Prix again this year?’
Yuuri tensed beneath his hand. ‘I-I don’t know if I’ll watch.’
Yakov squeezed his shoulder, giving him a brief shake. ‘I’m not asking if you’ll watch, boy, I’m asking if you’ll skate again. You messed it last time, shouldn’t let that stop you.’
There was a thud as something hit the ground. Heart in his throat, Yuuri couldn’t bring himself to turn around. Not now. Surely not now, not after everything. He could see the baggage carousels from here and the final customs exit, it was so close to being over, this perfect mess of an amazing, disastrous flight. And Yakov had known all along. Despite himself he almost wanted to laugh, an over-tired, hysterical, hopeless laugh.
Frowning, Yakov stopped and looked over his shoulder.
Victor was staring in stunned silence, bag on the ground beside him.
‘Told you I wasn’t memorable,’ Yuuri tried to joke. It just felt hollow. It was out. It was done. Strangely, he almost felt relief.

Summary
“Katsuki, you recently moved to Russia to train with your coach Victor Nikiforov,” Yuuri’s not sure why reporters need to tell him things that he already knows, but he’d rather not deal with Minako yelling at him over Skype so he just nods, and the reporter—Shana?—continues, “what do you like the most about training at Yubileyny?”
“Well the facilities are amazing…” Yuuri switches to autopilot and recites the list of training resources that Victor had galloped through after the Grand Prix Finals—when he mistakenly thought that Yuuri needed any incentive to move to Russia other than Victor himself.
He must answer the question well enough because she just nods along to some beat that Yuuri can’t hear. “What’s your least favorite thing about training in Russia?”
The answer bursts out of him before he has any time to consider a diplomatic alternative, “Victor’s driving.”
(Things escalate from there.)

Bookmarker's Notes
“Can you tell us the first time you were victimized by Victor Nikiforov’s driving,” a voice that sounds suspiciously like Yakov asks.
“I was only eleven,” Mila-on-screen wipes under her eyes, which are definitely dry, “Vitya agreed to take me back to the dorms after practice. He ran three red lights, hopped four curbs, and got a flat tire going less than five kilometers. I kissed the ground when I got out of the car and was still alive.”
