Summary
Tim’s doorbell rings ten minutes after midnight, and he practically jumps up from where he’s been sitting on the couch, only half focused on the game while waiting for Lucy to come home. He walks quickly across the living room, his bare feet making soft noises on the floor, and he has to tamp down on his grin as he opens the door, ready to welcome Lucy home from her girl’s night out.
It’s Angela who greets him, though, and her grin is shit eating and her arms are full of one very drunk Lucy Chen.
“What the fuck,” he asks, and Lucy giggles as she launches herself from Angela’s arms and into his.
“Tiiiiiim!” she cries, and he huffs in amusement as she plasters herself against his body. Her hands are immediately tangled in his clothing, one tugging on his t-shirt while the other dips into the waistband of his sweats, and he squirms as she feels him up in front of one of their best friends.
“Hey, baby,” he greets, and Lucy grins, her cheeks flushed and her eyes glazed, as he leans down and kisses her on the forehead.

It’s not until Lucy tugs on the underwire cup of her bra with a grimace on her face for what’s probably the tenth time in as many minutes that Angela sighs, turns in the passenger seat to stare at her, and asks point blank, “Are you pregnant or something?”
Lucy chokes on her the sip of coffee she’s just taken, her brown eyes growing round and wide as she processes the detective's question.
“Nooo,” she chokes out, her hand falling from her chest to her stomach automatically. “What… why would you ask that?”
“Because you’ve been messing with your boobs since we got in the car,” Angela says. She’s just staring, and because Lucy had stupidly asked if she could drive, there’s nowhere for her to hide.

The woman in charge spotted Tim and lit him up before he was even within speaking distance. “What the hell is one of your people doing walking into my operation?” she demanded. “She blew the whole thing. I nearly lost one of my people.” She waved a hand in the direction of a woman so young and short that she looked like a child.
“Why the hell didn’t you notify the LAPD of the op?” Tim fired back. “We were responding to a fucking noise complaint and now I’ve got an officer headed to the hospital.”
The woman’s face softened a moment. “The morgue. An armor piercing round tore through her vest. She may be headed to the hospital, but she’ll end up in the morgue.”
Tim’s world went black. All he could hear was ringing in his ears. Then it cleared and he was facing the woman whose sloppiness had just cost Lucy her life. He lunged for her.

A tiny, hollow plink draws his attention to the little table where a gold band spins on the faux wood. “Check your left hand, Bradford.”
Reflexively, he does as she says. On his ring finger sits a wide band, the same cheap bright yellow color of the one now lying accusingly on the breakfast table. He’s momentarily dumbstruck. They wouldn’t have. Would they have? The only thing he can think to say is, “we couldn’t have sprung for a nicer set?”

Harry could pull a prank to be certain, and yes, his temper was a beast of its own. But there was a certain art to weaponized perceptions and rumors.
Harry Potter was a boy who knew exactly how to be a petty bitch.

He was way too young to be out at this time let alone out here all alone. It was the boy’s training armour that tipped Obi-wan off that this was more than just a lost child.
“I have a youngling in front of me. There is no one else around and I am pretty sure he’s Mandalorian.”
Quinlan paused, then asked, “...Come again?”
Obi-Wan peered down at the child tugging at his arm. “Aran, ner echoy'la.”
Kriff. “Correction, I have a Mandalorian boy in front of me telling me he’s lost.”
