It all started by not fucking up his first meeting with Tim.
Literally anything would be better than last time—Jason still shuddered at the memory of his torture spree, so he couldn’t imagine how Tim felt about it—but he wanted it to go especially well. The Robin waiting in the Tower may not know Jason, but that was still his brother. Jason had fought alongside Tim, mourned him, cared for him. Of course, he couldn’t dump all of that onto the feet of a boy who was now a stranger, but Jason would be damned before he let any of his family out of his grasp this time around.or
The world ends, so Jason travels back in time in a desperate gamble to return to his family. He wakes up outside of Titans Tower and decides to start setting things right.

By age twelve, Tim has been planning his escape for years. Batman is not coming to save him. When Jason dies, Tim uses the distractions of grief and the press to disappear. Tim Drake doesn’t exist. The Crow, information broker and potential Gotham cryptid, begins operating out of the Narrows. Ruthless and a little unhinged, with a soft spot for helping civilians, Crow makes good money. Enough to keep his network of informants paid and a nest to sleep in anyway. When Red Hood reaches out for information, almost three years after Tim's escape, Crow must oblige. Jason, upon seeing that the entity that scares the villains and crime lords of Gotham looks like a twelve year old kid, can feel his adoption sense tingling. Time to call in the reinforcements.
