Alastor thought for a minute. “In return, I offer to be the best son you’ve ever had.”
She snorted, but took her son’s hand in hers and shook it. “Sounds like a deal, Alastor.”
As the two left the house, she looked over her shoulder at the closed bedroom door, finally letting a devilish grin stretch her face. Alastor caught sight of it and understood, a similar grin coming to his face as well.

Husk frowned slightly. "You really don't remember anything? You were talking through it for a bit there." He knew anterograde amnesia was going to be a symptom, and Husk expected that was probably the point of it all for Al.
Alastor blinks and stills. "I was?"
"I mean, yeah? You were also making a lot of noise,"
Scratchy static rings out for half a second before abruptly stopping. "Well. That's quite embarrassing, I'm glad I don't remember any of it!"
"You, uh, also sorta begged me to keep fucking you after you passed out?" He half expects to be snapped at for talking about it, but Alastor just tilts his head and stays on his elbows. "And did you?" Husk cringes and nods. "I mean, you told me to."
Alastor just stares for a long, uncomfortable moment and then goes back to holding Husk's hands.
"Are you mad?"
"Why would I be mad?"
Husk huffs and pulls his hand away, "Because, you passed out. I shouldn't have-"
"I gave you an order and," Alastor kisses Husk's cheek. "you followed through on it. What a good pet you are!"

Charlie wanted so badly to be so she nodded and did as asked. She watched her mother disappear into the darkness and waited.
And kept waiting.
The song of the bayou played around Charlie and her trembling fingers clutched the hem of her shirt tightly as she tried not to imagine glowing eyes creeping closer around her, silent tears streaking her cheeks.
Finally she could take it no more and with a sob she raced back the way they'd come.
"Mommy!"

For reasons known only to her, Lilith leaves Lucifer and, to keep him from having Charlie, abandons her in the middle of the Louisiana bayou. Who should find her but one deeply annoyed serial killer finishing dumping a body? Unable to leave a crying little girl to the alligators but equally unwilling to risk his secret being found out, Alastor takes her home and enlists Rosie's help to raise her.
A frantic Lucifer spends years searching for his daughter, refusing to believe that she had been swallowed by the bayou the night his wife left him.
Could the young woman staring at him really be her, or is his mind playing tricks on him?

Alastor had thought that was true, had believed losing to the first man wasn’t even to be considered from its impossibility. How wrong he had been.

This person obviously loves his work, but he can't help but wonder how he had found him, as he did use a fake name on the cover of all of his books. So as one secret is exposed, the other, of the heinous murders that he took part in; are quickly hidden away. He can't help but wonder for how long.
