Ken has always been like a father-figure to Toya - he's one of the better ones out there.
At least, he's pretty sure Ken's one of the better ones. His own frame of reference isn't anything to be proud of, but Ken doesn't shout at him, or hurt him. Sure, he can be touchy sometimes, and he insists on spending an awful amount of time alone with Toya, but it doesn't mean anything. If his friends insist that Ken's a good person, then he has to be a good person. That's all there is to it.
