“I think it’s my cheek. It has been healing well recently, I don’t know what happened.” Will muttered, each word sending another wave of pain through him. “I’ll take painkillers. It’ll be fine. You shouldn’t worry about me, you still haven’t fully recovered yourself.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Hannibal replied, already dismissing the idea. “I am a Doctor, after all.” He gently examined the wound, ignoring any protest.
“I doubt you still have your medical license.” Will replied, a soft smile tugging at his lips.

He promised Jack he’d do this right. Lure in the Chesapeake Ripper and make the catch but it’s irritatingly difficult when Hannibal keeps winding him up. He came out of the asylum repaired, rearranged in a different way, lit with vengeance, starving for revenge. He just has to keep reminding himself of that.
“I do,” Hannibal rises from his seat. For a while, they simply look at each other. Will with resentment and Hannibal, uncharacteristically at unease in his own office. “I admit it wasn’t my intention -,”
“Hard to believe it wasn’t your intention when you recorded all our conversations, Dr Lecter.”
