Some people have some magic in their blood. Some of it is real magic, some of it is remnants of older supernaturals long gone with the fading open land in this country. Finding any supernatural people in the west is becoming rarer with every passing year. More often than not, you'd find someone with enough blood to give them a longer lifespan or a little more strength than the average man. Nothing more special than that. It's almost impossible to find these exceptions.
Arthur Morgan had more than just a little-- but no one knew what is coursing through his veins. There ain't another man like him.

Summary
Arthur dies. It's real sad.
He doesn't agree with it. The spirit buck should have seen this coming. It lets Arthur try again until he dies without so much stubbornness clinging to all the 'what could have been's. How many times Arthur has tried again, he doesn't know or remember. The buck is there for him at each end to send him off again until Arthur accepts eternal rest.
This is the life that works.

It had been a long and difficult 27 years since the Hail Mary had launched. Not as terrible as it could have been, but not easy. Humanity had survived and adapted, as it always did. There had been terrible wars. There had been incredible acts of kindness. There had been massive scientific breakthroughs. And now, there were two distant blips of Petrova-light, picked up by the Deep Space Network, hurtling home. Two probes, braking hard as they hurtled toward Earth holding the secrets to its salvation. They were late, or at least, not very early, but they were here.
Grace may have made his peace with dying to save Rocky, but Rocky insists they return to Earth.
