Summary
Melanie Baker is just another tech drone working for Joja Corp. She's single, chasing middle age, and feeling utterly bored with her life. Then she rediscovers the letter her grandfather wrote her when he died. When she finds out that he left her his farm, she decides to chuck her cushy job in the city, and seek meaning–and time to write–in the woods.
When she arrives, she finds more than she bargained for: a *very* rustic house, a gorgeous man, and...is that a friggin' wizard in the woods?! And why does everyone keep saying they want some of her produce, when she's not even sure she wants to farm?
One thing is sure: life is about to get very, VERY interesting.

With a silent huff slipping past his lips, Elliott pulled his notepad closer to him and clicked the end of his pen, scratching it’s tip on the edge of the paper to get the ink flowing. Aside from those few scribbles though, the paper was completely empty. He’d brought it along in the hopes that the liveliness of the saloon could offer inspiration, yet all his brainstorming had been nothing more than a few dull ideas bouncing around in his mind.
He let himself get lost in his thoughts, never noticing the door of the saloon opening to let a new patron inside, nor noticing the sudden clamor and cheering as a new face entered the building and the bustle of conversation increasing.
“Hi there! I don’t think we’ve met yet.”
Author's Note: As of March 24, 2024 I have since chosen to abandon this work. Reading it back I dislike a lot of the literary decisions I've made, and my writing style has changed a lot, and I'm just generally dissatisfied in the direction the story went. Sorry to anyone who was hoping for more chapters

“There!” Mona calls, pointing. The Phantom Thieves’ follow his paw--in front of their eyes is a familiar visage, one that echoes in front of their eyes, resonates in their hearts… In front of them is the match that struck and lit the fire of rebellion in their hearts.
Joker, leader of the Phantom Thieves, stands before them.
He jumps from the pillar of ice he’s perched upon, flipping, landing perfectly on his feet, looking no worse for wear. His face softens, and he smiles, stepping closer. But the Phantom Thieves of Heart are on their guard--they take a step back, and their leader laughs, mock-offended by their display of distrust.
“Come on, guys. Has it really been so long that you’ve forgotten me?” He rests one hand on his hip, and uses the other to lift up his mask. Golden eyes shine like priceless jewels, reflecting against the dim light of the underground in the Ninth Circle of Dante’s Inferno.
“That’s not him,” Oracle’s voice says, up from above. Her voice wavers. “That’s not Joker--it’s his shadow!”

Laughter. Delighted, dark. It was exhilarating to hear, even as the excruciating pain of the chains on his ‘other self’ breaking apart made him scream.
Yet another novelization of P5 - AU/HeadCanon in which the protagonist was a high school level boxer and son of a loving family before sticking his nose in where it didn't belong. Expect canon-divergence, and convenient changes to battle sequences for flair/author sanity.
