It's hard being a superstar European author when you can't even work out how you feel about one girl.
Or Agott's journey of discovery about what Coco means to her, what it means to live in a time of dreams and optimism, and how far they'll both go for each other no matter what the cost.
A Victorian/Fin de Siécle Arkco AU where the Atelier is literally an atelier for artists.

Summary
Coco's face was focused, the tip of her tongue poking out from her mouth as she thumbed through the wrinkled papers before her. The curve of her cheek was a round, clear expanse of skin, like the empty page of a palm quire. Though she could not see it now, on the other cheek, the next page, was a splatter of ink — a raw, angry pink. She looked no less Coco with the injury, but the thought that she suffered a blow like that in the first place made Agott’s stomach flip.
It gnawed at her: brilliant, kind Coco — the girl who flipped her perspective of magic, of the whole world, upside down — being so often pushed straight into the storm.
Agott helps Coco clean up her brushbug-terrorized desk and realizes she still has some worry for Coco left to give.

Not a single note of pain crosses her heart at the blunt disregard, especially not when Agott has admitted she will never, ever be rude to Coco again—this, undeniably, is an attempt to safeguard her rather than chase her away out of pure malice. Right now, just about anyone would be able to suss out that this apprentice is sick, without a shadow of a doubt.
“Absolutely not,” Coco speaks plainly, immediately moving to perch on the edge of the bed that she can see is vacant of Agott’s sprawled body. “You're sick, aren't you? No way am I leaving you by yourself.”
