Summary
The apocalypse had come slowly, as if the earth itself were trying to delay it. It started in the plants, growing where they weren’t supposed to, whole redwoods poking their ways through skyscrapers, wild gardens taking over office buildings. People tried to remove them, but eventually, it just became easier to let them stay. Then, the creatures. The first incident was reported by a distraught son who'd gone deer hunting with his dad. He said that when his dad tried to shoot the deer, it just ate the older man, leaving bloody bones behind. The son lost his hand trying to get away from it. The animals turned, creatures of every kind becoming violent to the point where people were putting down their own dogs before they could be betrayed.
Cell towers were covered in vines and Wi-fi routers were grown through with roots and wandering branches, rendering phones almost completely useless. Governments had been mostly dismantled, leaders either dead or in hiding.
Niko's dead, Edwin needs to find somewhere safe before Crystal loses her mind, and Charles just hopes he stops finding corpses.

He could feel the leather hitting his arms, could hear the cruel words thrown at him. Plastic was burrowed in his abdomen, shards crimson and crusted with blood. He was going to get yelled at for this, he just knew. He'd messed up the case when they were so close to finishing it, and they couldn't very well get a new one of the figures. Now, their client wouldn't move on and it'd be all his fault, and Edwin would be upset and Charles never liked it when Edwin was upset at him, and Crystal would be mad and Niko would be disappointed and-

Summary
Raph grit his teeth, growling into his communicator as he pushed against the snake mutant. His tonfas were knocked away a while ago, so Raph had to resort to his own strength. His brothers had all been awake when he left to go on patrol, but given that it was now 3:34 in the morning, they were probably all asleep. He'd been hoping that the noise of the fight would be enough to wake up someone, but there was still no response.

They hadn't won yet. Raph heard something scratching at the wall and a surge of adrenaline rushed through him. Just as Super Shredder made it back over the side of the roof, Raph pushed his sensei out of the way of Super Shredder's blades.
A blinding pain ran through Raph's body, sending spasms down his spine.
