Regulus runs away from home and ends up in his brother’s apartment, where Sirius lives with his boyfriend. He panicked when they told him he would have to kill someone to receive the Mark.
In their last conversation, Sirius had promised his brother that he would help if Regulus ever came to his senses in time. Regulus never thought he would take Sirius up on the offer—until he saw the darker side of his friends new hobbies. He fears that it might already be too late.
