You’re awake.” He whispered, quiet, unsure, and so so excited that he almost got excited by proxy, noting the growing smile and the way he gripped the sheets in his hands. “How are you feeling? Do you need water? God I missed you, I was so worried—“.
“I’m sorry.” He managed out, because it was the only thing he could think to say, feeling a tad guilty at the overwhelming confusion on the man’s face, but he couldn’t exactly pretend he knew him, could he? “I— I don’t want to sound rude, or anything,” and that only worsened the confusion, somehow, “But who are you?”

Turns out it was a lethal strike, and killed him on impact. When he wakes up, it's the same morning, and the day has started over again completely. He finds himself in an endless loop, stuck trying to find a way to avoid his own death and the death of others until he finds out how to free himself and get time moving forward again.
