Tony Stark is dying, but all the world sees from the outside is the slow breakdown of a previously dignified (kind of) billionaire into an isolated, self-destructive hermit who just made his former Personal Assistant into the CEO of his company for seemingly no reason.
Hornet, though, doesn't know any of this. All she knows is that, during the long journey to return to Hallownest from Pharloom, she's only ended up further away then ever- all because she couldn't help her curiosity about the glowing disk labeled 'Pym' that once was large enough to crush her, and is now small enough to fit in the palm of her hand.

Summary
Five Pebbles dies, and then wakes again.
Bugs that walk and talk with god-given sapience, and an orange rot that’s spread throughout the entire facility grounds. What iterator could be so irresponsible as to let such an experiment waste away? On who’s grounds has he landed?
He is no bug, and this is no maze. Oh, what is a machine to do?
(in the meanwhile, the bugs look at this creature- pink, long, with too-rigid antennas and no mandibles to speak with yet so many things to say, and they see a remnant of their king. They do not realize that perhaps his kind are closer to vessels than to gods.)
TL;DR: angry calculator god in a world of bugs. Assumptions are made.

The caves echo.
They echo on the wind that pushes a caravan carrying Hornet home. This time, she is a prisoner no longer and at her side stands a group of bugs bound by love and friendship to her and each other. Together, they ride to rid free life of the Pale, to find the truth behind an ancient tragedy, and to build a kinder world for the family they've become.
They echo in Hallownest, trickling up the threads of the Great and Mortal Spider, Queen Ephibysse. There, in caves that were ruins, she weaves a new eternal civilisation in her dark and chittering visage. The kingdom, a web and in its clutches bugs find something not found in a spider’s webs before: simple peaceful lives. There is but a single cost. Abandon all creeds and faiths and heed the last true God, the Void and the death that it is cursed to never receive.
They echo on the sands between, a wind swept trail in the shape of a Wyrm, slithering up to the gate, and then vanishing all at once.
There in the echoes, may the heroes find a final hope, begged vainly by a headless god:
Cut them from us—Death for the Deathless.

Following an age spent bound in service to the Beast God of Silk, Lace awakens. She awakens from slumber, inflicted by defeat, her silken body wounded and mended by a claw different from her Mothers; she awakens from her possession, haunted threads, which once filled her mind with her liege and Mother’s demands, now severed; she awakens into a new age, one drowning in spider webs: the age of the Weaver Queen. Above her, she finds the trembling shadow of her former rival and last hope, the Weaver’s body warped by claiming godhood. Below, she finds a Pharloom haunted by the consequences of her past actions, by survivors, and by a trail of riddles left by the red-cloaked warrior. Is Lace caught in another web?
Newly mortal and spiraling out of control, Lace is unable to resist the lure of an order, especially one given by the most interesting thing ever to happen to her. What remains of Hornet will lead her on a quest spanning the breadth of her now dying kingdom, force her to face the lies she perpetuated, and show her that some paths cannot be taken alone.

“So, a little spider has managed to crawl her way through the Mist,” they speak, voice steady but with a slight roughness to it. Beneath the mask, the tiny specks of white that she'd seen before are no longer visible.
She remains in her stance, ready to defend herself, but for a moment, she thinks that she can maybe avoid a battle this time. “So you are of sound mind,” she begins, staring directly at the silken bug. “We do not have to battle. Let us speak like reasonable bugs,”
The figure before her laughs. “I think we both know there is nothing to talk about for the both of us,” they declare, grip on their longpin tightening. “I would expect a bug able to traverse my Mist to be more perceptive than that.”
OR
Hornet encounters Phantom in the Exhaust Organ, but their encounter goes... a bit differently than either of them had expected. As a bond blossoms between the two, the course of their story changes greatly.
