There was little else he could do, other than ask for her good will and hope she might care enough to show it. “But I am gonna ask you not to.”
Her eyes flicked away from him, cocking her head in what – at the very least – seemed like consideration.
“Steep ask, Mordred. Better hear a good argument behind it.”
