Summary
The humans threw Grace away. Grace, who worked so hard to save them, who came back for Rocky when he realized the taomoeba would eat through Rocky's ship. Grace, who gave up his chance to go home to save Erid too.
And then Rocky finds out exactly how Grace ended up in space.
They're not giving him back now. Grace will always have a place on Erid where he's beloved and cherished the way he should be, even if it takes Grace a while to believe he's worth that. Rocky may or may not have plans to fix up the Hail Mary for the trip back anyways- there were a few things they wanted to say directly to Stratt's face.

His arm twists painfully behind him as he’s dragged along towards the large box, which now sits open before him. He recognizes distantly that it’s made of the soundproofing material Eridians use to make private rooms. An Eridian wouldn’t be able to see the inside.
He realizes it's just the right size for him.

The Eridians have done their best to treat Ryland Grace well since he saved their planet. At least, most of them. A few years after his arrival, he is abducted by a group more interested in his biology than his wellbeing. Rocky and the others scramble to find him, before it's too late.

Summary
Grace is old, frail and dying, but Eridian scientists have developed a way to transfer his consciousness into an Eridian body to give him hundreds of years of new life. Grace needs to come to terms with his changing identity and way of life. Its scary and weird, but at least he has his best friend by his side <3

Summary
Rocky has opted to stay on the Hail Mary for now. Someone has to watch Grace sleep, after all, and he doesn’t trust that duty to anyone else. Grace has been unwell for many days, and Rocky isn’t about to let anything happen to him, not now that they’ve made it to Erid and safety.
(Grace's worsening illness starts reminding Rocky too much of the past.)

Summary
Several years from settling on Erid, Grace starts getting severe migraines.
After discovering they're caused by wearing the wrong prescription, Rocky finds a temporary solution while eridian scientists figure out how human sight, and glasses work.
A flaw in Rocky's solution after a small accident allows Grace to see the world as an eridian. Chaos ensues when, aided by ultrasound-like vision, Grace notices Rocky's five hearts beating way too fast whenever he's around him.

Summary
Rocky has officially moved into Hail Mary with Grace, but he's still dealing with the aftereffects of living nearly fifty human years by himself. By chance, he finds himself singing with Grace, and it's clear Grace doesn't fully understand what that means for Eridians.
This story roughly follows the plot of both the book and the film, but Rocky and Grace's personalities are more reminiscent of the book. Furthermore, Rocky's speaking style closely follows the book, although his physical appearance is closer to his depiction in the film.

Summary

With only a handful of weeks of edible food left, Grace begins to deteriorate in ways he understands far too well. Starvation is a problem he can quantify, track, and predict—and one he cannot stop. His body wastes, his mind slips, and the line between clinical observation and quiet terror begins to blur.
Because sometimes, knowing the science doesn’t save you.
From Rocky’s perspective, the problem is simple: Grace must eat. But human biology is anything but simple, and the solution sitting right in front of them—Taumoeba—remains unusable. As Grace worsens, Rocky is forced to do something he’s never needed to before: become a scientist.
And he’s running out of time to learn.

Roche limit: the distance from a celestial body within which a second celestial body, held together only by its own force of gravity, will disintegrate because the first body's tidal forces exceed the second body's self-gravitation.
As the distance between the Hail Mary and Erid shrinks, as the language and cultural barriers disappear, Grace's health deteriorates and Rocky's worries skyrocket. Scurvy, cabin fever, malnutrition, tension and arguments – their friendship is put to the test when they are faced with challenges they cannot science their way out of. When a sudden Taumoeba emergency disrupts their journey just as they are about to reach Erid's radio range, they are forced to take a detour to Threeworld's Petrova-line to prevent Grace from starving to death. It's one thing to complete a mission when at full capacity… but how do you tackle obstacles you cannot fix with math and engineering?Series

Rocky. I can’t put this all on the guy right now. He should be happy. We are going to Erid. We are going to save his planet.
“CBC. A complete blood count.” I answer, hoping he doesn’t ask me why.
“Purpose, question?”
Rocky, please. I’m trying to spare you right now.
Basically, Grace gets exposed to a dangerous amount of radiation during an EVA and doesn't want to tell Rocky bc of what happened to Rocky's crew <3
THIS IS A REWORKED VERSION OF "TEMPEST" - after some comments, I wanted to keep the soul of the story, but make it more scientifically plausible. While there are still probably some inaccuracies, I still hope this isn't as messy as before.
