There are just some sensations you have heard about, read about, seen on film and in person, and you build up the theories and mechanics of it in your mind. You do this; it’ll feel like that. That sort of thing.
It hadn’t been the first time Crowley’s fingers twisted themselves in his jacket collar.

Summary
Aziraphale's last words to the one being he could ever say he loved were "I forgive you," but he knows that Crowley will never forgive him. Nina and Maggie try to convince him that he can make it up to the demon, but Aziraphale is only staying on Earth until he accepts that their relationship is truly over.
Crowley has left London with nothing but his car and his plants, and hopes never to return again. He knows now that Aziraphale does not love him the way he loves the angel, and so all that is left for him to do is try to build a life without him.
Both of them are struggling alone, wishing that their story, their centuries-long partnership, had not ended the way it did. Will they get a chance to write a different ending?

Summary
The demon Crowley has experienced many things during his time on Earth. For example, he learned to ice skate and found the best alcohol. (All Hell has is shitty booze that tastes like it came straight out of someone’s arse.) He watched humans and, consequently, took on their mannerisms. He encountered joy, friendship, and compassion, things he never got in hell. Yes, Crowley has felt a lot of things.
But none quite like what he is feeling right now. -

Summary
The thing about mourning a death is that it comes with some excuse: a burnt bookshop, Aziraphale nowhere on earth, not even having said fucking goodbye –now that is the kind of thing that gives you every right to get off your head at some dingy pub and whine ‘til closing.
This feels –too close maybe. Too much of his own heart is in it. Too much showing behind his cracked ribs in that little speech –too much and too little both said and shown; too fast to assume, to hope. A rush of weighted, heavy words and a world of the last three years in which "we're better than that" might have actually been true. How to explain that to a roomful of absent strangers? To a wine glass? How could they imagine the crush of a cumulative millenia spent wanting?
Crowley is found wanting on the floor of his living room.

Summary
Crowley has a revelation in the shower. Not the world-ending sort or the getting-laid sort, but one of the far less fun sorts. The sort that leads you to realize that something has somehow gone very wrong. Most likely, anyway. Maybe.
Heaven, why him?
(Fan Cover Art by my own Eldest Podling.)Author's Notes: This story can be read as a Standalone, OR as part of the series (located on Squidge). Innocuous came first, and nothing changes what it is--
a lovenote to footnotesan excellent GO story. The footnotes work if the story is read chapter by chapter, the footnotes map properly, but not as Entire Work.
BIG NOTE: I'm moving most of my content to Squidgeworld. My pseud is flamethrower; you can download PDFs, ePubs, & Mobi files on Squidge for easy reading just like you can on AO3.
