“We’d like one unassembled owlbear, please,” the tiefling says to Nettie, holding out a small pouch. Nettie nearly drops it; the fabric feels like burning coals. “Shit,” the tiefling says apologetically, digging in her pocket and flipping Nettie a few extra coins. “Sorry. I run hot.”
“You don’t want to each make your own?” Nettie asks. It’s both an upselling tactic and a genuine question. How are three grown women supposed to share one stuffed animal?
The tiefling’s jaw drops. “Abso-fucking-lutely we do,” she says, heat crackling off of her skin. “How much is it to do three? More, right? Shadowheart, give the nice lady some gold.”

So i absolutely love this series; sasha/jon is an uncommon ship, and sasha/michael seems like it's even more so, so sasha/jon/michael is unheard of. My general perception is that an earnestly-executed fic for an uncommon concept is usually amazing and it seems like that's the case here so much and I love it.
Sasha survives the worm attack by virtue of Michael warning her about not!them, and Jon starts to navigate season 2 with Sasha by his side and with only his baseline level of paranoia (rather than not!sasha-enhanced levels of paranoia). And Michael is around and developing a deeper and deeper interest in Sasha as the story develops.

Eliza had fondly called her “a late bloomer” which Kara had accepted as the truth, not wanting to face the ideas of what it could be otherwise. She kissed boys, and even one girl, mostly just to try it out, but the experience was rather lacking and so Kara just shrugged it off. No one had believed him at eight when he said that a giant spider had cut them apart; he had applied to work at the Magnus Institute hoping to look for answers, not to make friends, not for anyone to discover that his bond with his daemon was abnormal.

i held off reading this one for quite some time; something about the summaries just didn't vibe with me. then I got linked to the fourth part and really liked it and it got me invested enough to read the rest of the series and it's v good.
