Summary

Despite his determination to ignore his desires, Ghost is eventually forced to make a decision, or risk losing the one person who means everything to him. And maybe, just maybe, with Soap's help, he'll be able to realize that happiness might be fleeting, but that just makes it all the more important to seize while you can.

Perhaps the cruellest thing was that it was all of his own manifestation. He had every opportunity to step back, to turn around and set professional boundaries, but he didn’t. Ever the indulgent one he was and he kept pushing, pushing, pushing. He was so certain he’d be able to pull away at any second, the moment Soap showed any interest he’d yank the rug from beneath him and unveil his walls lined with razor wire. He’d destroy anyone - even Soap - to preserve himself. He knew that, he told himself that so many times. But now who was the fool standing there with the bleeding heart?

When the video ended, Soap paused it to stop the next video from auto-playing. He lowered the phone onto his legs, and tilted his head back to look up at Ghost, but said nothing.
He could see Ghost smirk back down at him. “Do you want me to tie you up, Johnny?” he asked in a low voice.
Soap grinned. “No, sir.” He raised his phone back up, and pointed at the freeze frame of the harness. “Quite the opposite.”

Of course, Ghost wasn't blind to Soap's little crush on him. In fact, he relished in it sometimes. At first, he told himself that it was nothing and he wouldn't let himself get too far into it, afraid of letting the other man get too attached and get too attached himself, but he wasn't expecting how much he enjoyed teasing reactions out of the other man.
He wasn't expecting how much he absolutely loved how he was the only one who could make Soap blush from just a few suggestive words.
In which Soap realizes his feelings for Ghost and Ghost knows about his feelings.
