Summary
Five had always understood, in an abstract sort of way, why she might be attractive to someone else. Pretty like something poisonous; compelling like the urge to put your hand through a naked flame to test whether it’s as hot as you think it might be. But she’d been a thorn in his side more than anything, irritating one another through mere proximity, and at no point had he contemplated anything ever happening between them. Neither the desire nor the opportunity had ever presented themselves in earnest.
That was then, though, and this is now: the heart wants what it wants, as the saying goes, and Five wants with a whole lot more of him than that.

She’s eleven years old, only just beginning to learn the true extent of her powers, and her mother has a very important mission for her. That mission, surprisingly, involves donuts. It also, unsurprisingly, involves scheming and subterfuge and just a trifle of trickery.
Lila is very excited.
“Are you sure you’re ready for this, little one?” her mother asks, running a brush through her hair. “It’s a very big mission, after all. Even dangerous. . . You mean absolutely everything to me, my darling - I’d hate to see anything happen to you as a result of rushing into something before you’re ready.”
There’s a file on the table in front of her. A file she’s read front to back at least three dozen times, though there’s little more she can glean from it at this point. On the cover of the file, right at the center, are three small, neatly printed words:
‘The Umbrella Academy.’
Lila swallows. Squares her shoulders. Steels herself. “I’m ready.”

Summary
After Sherlock's "suicide," as John and Lestrade try to sweep up the pieces and clear Sherlock’s name, the detective himself is joined by Jane Turner, one of Mycroft’s former allies in an attempt to root out the rest of Moriarty’s network. But there are plans in place greater than any of them know, and when Sherlock winds up kidnapped, it’s up to Jane Turner and John Watson to free the detective, a feat that proves difficult when it’s no longer clear who the enemy is.

Watson hates himself. After being shot in Afghanistan, he underwent a procedure to replace his heart with clockwork. Back in England, his new flatmate is not all he appears - Holmes has been hiding something even more unnatural than Watson's mechanical heart.
