I’m married now. What a pain, Wei Wuxian hears, and looks around to see who said it. It was in Lan Zhan’s voice, yes, but the other boy currently has his jaw locked so hard that it’s improbable he’ll speak within the next century. He lies below Wei Wuxian, sopping wet with his forehead bare.
They’ve just been flushed out of Lan Yi’s cave, where they swore to uphold righteousness and save the world. Lan Zhan is glaring at Wei Wuxian from where he’s squished by his admittedly lithe frame, and Wei Wuxian scrambles to right himself. Only, he accidentally pulls at the ribbon that ties their hands together. He feels such intense annoyance radiate from Lan Zhan’s demeanour that it’s almost palpable.

The lights flickered behind Chuuya, digging into Dazai’s eyes. Chuuya scoffed when Dazai rubbed his eyes. There were muffled sounds of people running, falling, screaming from behind them. It was only a matter of time before the people chasing them caught up. It was only a matter of time before their kouhais busted in to save them. The gun glinted off of Chuuya’s hip, where he had shoved it after picking it off a man’s crushed hand.

Xie Lian is a bit taken aback at how fervently Hua Cheng wants this; he was right in bringing this up when he did. He says cheerfully to Hua Cheng, “You just wait,” and runs out the door to find the villager with the pretty, young daughter.
Xie Lian finds that San Lang is wandering the world for an old friend: he takes that idea and runs far, far away from Hua Cheng’s decidedly romantic intentions.

The true story starts when they got married three weeks ago and have since remained in a wedding seclusion. Or, if one desires the full version, it started 20 years ago when Wei Wuxian was such a rule-breaking gremlin that Lan Zhan accidentally learnt what it was like to want to punish someone too hard.
This is kind of on Wei Wuxian, though; he totally should have seen it coming.
