Summary
It has been two weeks since the end of the Infernus battle. As far as Saps knows, everything is at peace now. The war was won, both islands are quiet, and all those who caused chaos lie dead in the ground. A place from which they can never bother anyone again.
So tell him why. Why, of all things that could have happened, is his best friend... The same one whose memorial stands in front of Saps house, the same one Saps was sure was dead, now lying half-awake at his doorstep, begging for help?
Flux never begs.
What happened after Flux "died" in lava during the volcano raid?
And how, will Saps deal with it?
This fanfic was first written only with the intention to make Flux cry just to later have an excuse to give him comfort with lots of cuddles. But as i keep writing it, it turned into a somewhat sweet comedy with lots of silly fighting and bickering! So i hope you enjoy this small break from all the angst in this fandom and embrace the cuddles, fluff and everything nice (*˘︶˘*).｡*♡Series

Summary
As Saps drives, Flux traces their route along the paper map. It stretches halfway across the dashboard, thin paper crinkling beneath his fingers. He traces out where they’ve been, where they’ve started, and where they might be going. This highway leads all the way to the coast, where the rest of the world crumbles into the ocean. Behind them is everything that has ever existed.
or, Flux runs away to see the ocean, he and Saps are soulmates, and only one of them knows how to swim.

Summary
Flux stares and stares. He takes in the deep gold of his eyes, flecked through with a darker brown, the freckles smattered across his nose, the light scar hidden just at his hairline. The last time he’d seen it, it’d been an angry red shot through with stitches. He sweeps over the moles beneath his eyes, the one by his mouth. He’s kissed them all a hundred times over. The cut of his jaw is sharper, older. He’s grown up, having lost the baby fat that once clung to his cheeks. Flux is sure he’s much the same.
He drops his forehead to Saps’ chest, breathing out slow. He sinks into the rhythm as ribs rise and fall beneath him. There’s a hand at his hip, rubbing circles into the stretch of bare skin where his jumper meets his jeans.
“I can’t believe you’re here,” Saps says.
or Saps attempts suicide as a teenager, inadvertently leaving Flux behind in the aftermath. A couple of years pass before they find one another again

Summary
Sometime later, there's a soft brush against his face, a thumb sweeping high across his cheekbone. It pulls him from the light doze, and he finds Flux studying him, turbulent violet eyes searching across his face. They keep getting stuck on the gash at his hairline, at the blooming bruise racing across his ribs, at the litter of faint scars wrapping across his chest from previous fights. None of the wounds have been serious, but they've left him marked a pale silver.
"You're all done," he says quietly, looking away to stare down at the stack of loose feathers he'd gathered up from the bed spread.
or Saps returns home after a fight in the arena, Flux is there to clean him up and care for his wings

Saps presses forward and slashes again. He hears the whole crowd scream, the sound muffled as if from underwater. The floor is wet and iron-rich and his whole head is pounding. He’s waited for this moment for longer than anyone here knows.
He raises his axe into the air and Flux reaches a bare hand up and shouts, “Wait!”
or, Flux surrenders in the colosseum. The rest of the world tries to figure out what to do with him.

The one who has come back from the documentary filming looks like Saps. Sounds like Saps. Everyone thinks it's Saps who has returned, safe and sound, from his six-month trip away on the project.

“He’s not the green witch,” Expendable responds. His tone ends high, like there is a joke there that makes sense. Guest laughs like it does make sense, and John squeezes his eyes tighter together and pretends like he never woke for their conversation to begin with. “He won’t die if we—like. Throw him in a bath.”
