Thick, steady taps of drumbeat filled the room. The frontman rolled his shoulders, gripped the fretboard and leaned his head back, letting his mouth fall slightly open and exposing a delicate décolletage. He strummed a single low chord, and Hisoka’s eyes traveled down to his fingers, long and narrow, covered in heavy jewelry, resting over the humming strings. The force of the strum had split the frontman’s shirt even wider, and a single silver nipple ring glinted beneath it. Goosebumps skittered down Hisoka’s limbs.
Hisoka, a down-on-his-luck bassist playing street corners and open-mics, falls hopelessly in love with the elusive frontman of an up-and-coming band. He has no chance at all.

Summary
After his fight with the Spiders leaves him mortally wounded, Hisoka is comatose. This time, no Nen contract can make him come back. The only thing keeping him alive is a constant supply of aura from Illumi, which has been slowly draining him as well.
So, Illumi's willing to throw it all away. He seeks help from the one person he never figured he’d be asking for help. He pleads to Killua and Nanika to heal his dying friend, except that Killua doesn’t know it’s Hisoka. This selfless behaviour, this display of unselfish love for a life from the person he’s always been most terrified of stuns Killua.
For the first time, Illumi sees Nanika as someone, not something. He realises his mistake on dehumanising her, and so he knows neither she nor Killua have any reason to want to help him.
He can only hope they will.

Hisoka stood in front of his new apartment door when movement in his periphery caught his attention.
Huge black eyes were staring at him from across the corridor.
The gum Hisoka had been blowing popped. Loudly.
He held his neighbors gaze, registering pale skin and long, oh so long black hair hanging out of the door frame.
When the man slowly stalked closer Hisoka realized that he was tall, nearly as tall as Hisoka himself and painfully pale. Black hair smoothed down his back as dark as the ink curling around his biceps. His tattoos were beautiful, so finely worked and mesmerizing Hisoka nearly didn`t register the long kitchen knife his neighbor held in one of his hands. Or the strange red splatter across one of his fine cheekbones.Hisoka swallowed thickly around his bubblegum.
“I`m Illumi, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”
And Hisoka nearly moaned. He had never met anyone in his life he wanted to fuck so badly in the first few seconds of making their acquaintance.
He grabbed the offered hand and pulled Illumi forward.
“Hisoka,” he said, getting impossibly closer. “And the pleasure’s all mine.”
