He barely felt Steve’s hands on him in what felt like hours later. He opened his eyes, lashes wet and sticky on his cheek. He stumbled and stopped playing, reverb screeching throughout the too-quiet Upside Down version of his shoddy trailer. He looked up and found Nancy Fucking Wheeler staring at him, eyes decidedly fixed on his. She looked relieved, tears falling down her face as Steve stood shoulder to shoulder with the two of them, breaths heaving. She jumped at him, and Eddie flinched out of reflex as her arms wrapped around his neck, her petite frame trembling around his. Eddie’s guitar was stuck between them, painfully pressing into his side. Steve met his eyes from over her shoulder, giving him a grateful nod. Eddie felt like he couldn’t catch his breath, but Nancy was safe for now, Steve and Robin and the kids wouldn’t hate him for not being able to save her, and-
“Not that I should have to say this, but guys, get up here NOW!” Dustin screeched through the gate, breaking their quiet reprieve.

Summary
When you are ten years old, you find two creatures, bloodied and injured, trapped a net on the beach near your home. You save them, make friends with them, and return them to the sea, leaving you to wonder later if your friends with the Sun colored scales and fins that shone like the full Moon were real or imagined up by a childhood of loneliess.
Time passes. You hear stories of monsters, Sirens in the water, one that is a good omen if spotted, promising your safe voyage as long as you respect the rules of the ocean, and one that sinks ships and eats people for fun. Just folktales meant to scare children.
A decade later, they return the favor, though they don't plan on leaving you so easily this time.

Summary
A bunch of mad scientists attempts to create artificial life: surely this will go well.
or: The first artificial life is kept inside and raised as a war machine. Some of the scientists try to break him out and teach him humanity, and the boy is willing to prove himself! Things aren't as easy as one might think since he was raised to kill and.... he's also a couple feel taller than the average person.
Things aren't hopeless, but it sure as hell aren't won by default.

Summary
The skeleton fires again and George scrambles to the side, hands and feet skidding on the dirt path as he barely manages to dodge. He freezes when he hears the creeper let out another hiss, knowing that he isn’t going to be able to get far enough away before it explodes.
Something huge slams down in front of George and he yelps, jerking back and nearly falling over. In the flickering firelight he sees that it…it’s a boot, bigger than he is, probably even bigger than a ravager. He feels a shudder behind himself and twists around to see a second boot shift a bit as the giant adjusts their weight.
Because that’s what this has to be. A giant.

Summary
Danger was practically pouring off the man in waves. He was fully clad in shimmering purple armor and his hand rested on the handle of his sword, as if he was ready to draw it at any second. He was a head taller than the villager who captured him, and stood in a firm, confident battle stance. Ranboo had seen borrowers like him, before he'd left. Those borrowers were the ones who fought off the rats and the racoons. They were the ones who survived encounters with something like a cat or a dog.
Ranboo was terrified of the human equivalent of those fierce warriors.

Rather than the streets, he sleeps in a clearing in the forest. At the edge of the clearing is a towering statue; the statue of the Blood God.
Tommy soon discovers that the statue is more than it appears.

Strong wind swirled about him, tangling the mishap of curls even further. He stared off over the edge of the building to the street below as the last twelve hours replayed through his head, especially Kacchan’s words.
Taking a step back from the edge of the building, Izuku began to unlaced his shoes. He didn’t known why, but he just didn’t want anything to happen to them. They were his favorite after all.
With one last breath, Izuku muttered, “Kacchan, you better be right.”

Shouta hadn’t planned for Hitoshi. He hadn’t planned for children at all. At eighteen (almost nineteen, but that meant shit all) he could barely be considered an adult himself. He wasn’t even legally able to drink. All he was concerned with was his work as a Pro Hero, and making sure he ate and slept enough for Hizashi and Nemuri to get off his back.
But life didn’t give a single fuck about what Shouta wanted, just ask Oboro.
So, instead of Shouta’s easy plan for the night (finishing his patrol, choking down whatever leftover Hizashi had left in his fridge, then summarily passing out on his futon), he was at the emergency room. Watching, unblinkingly, as the ER staff tended to a worryingly small toddler. Where else was he supposed to be after he found the kid wandering the streets of Tokyo, out of his mind with a fever.
And a muzzle locked around his head.
Aizawa Shouta hadn't planned on having kids, especially not so soon after graduating UA. But after taking Hitoshi in, and being led to four scared siblings, it was starting to look like he was going to be a father of five. With the help of Hizashi, maybe he wouldn't end up too over his head.
