Snotlout waved his hands over the mirror. “Show me myself twenty years into the future!”
To the amazement of everyone gathered, the surface of the mirror rippled like it was made of water and a stone had been dropped into the center. When the ripples passed, a new image was left behind. Not the reflection of the roof of the Great Hall, like it had been before, but the side-view of a man who looked remarkably like Snotlout, but older.
“Holy yak dung, it worked!” Snotlout exclaimed, leaning further over the mirror. “It’s my future self! What is he doing?”
OR: 14-year-old Snotlout finds a magic mirror that shows the future. 34-year-old Snotlout is trying to balance two jobs he loves, raising his son, his long-distance relationship with his wife and daughter, and his closest friendships on Berk. Unfortunately, with the week-long Thawfest festival approaching fast, emotions are running high.

Snotlout pauses long enough to shoot Astrid a withering glare. "Thanks a lot, Astrid. That was really helpful."

"You fucking blew it on stage," Snotlout finally spits out. She's so small and spiky, Erin is reminded of an ugly stray kitten who tries to act scary.
"What?" She says, voice lowering in pitch and volume until it's practically just a growl.
"I said you blew it!" Snotlout repeats herself, a mean smirk pulling at her lips. "You sucked on stage, you sounded like shit. You were dispassionate, it was lame. You missed, like, half the notes. Totally pathetic."
Erin inhales sharply, trying to calm herself even as her hands curl into fists and her arms tremble. Erin is better than this, she won't cave, won't stoop to Snotlout's level. She's more mature than this, she can handle a little insult from some petulant, ignorant brat.
"Aw, is someone angry?" Snotlout says, voice mockingly saccharine. "Is it finally setting in that daddy's money won't get you shit here? Is rich girl gonna cry?"

It's not that Snotlout is dealing poorly with his husband's death, it's that between his house falling apart, his job, and the constant worry of his friends, he isn't dealing with it at all. But when a detour to the Christmas Carnival leads to a mysterious stranger claiming to be a snowman come to life, he isn't left with much choice.

"What do you mean by that?" Snotlout asks. His heart thunders in his chest as Eret stands, barely easing when the larger man reaches down and pulls him to his feet.
"I mean," Eret says, deliberate and slow as he guides Snotlout toward the barn, "that I don't want our first time to be out in the open." He forces the barn door open with a shoulder and guides Snotlout in with a gentle hand. Eret steps in and turns Snotlout around, one hand gently tilting Snotlout's chin up and encouraging eye contact. "I want you safe, and comfortable, and all to myself."

Summary
Meeting Snotlout Jorgenson is like receiving a very prettily wrapped gift that you don't realize is from the most annoying person that you know until you read the insulting card. And then you open it, and it's something nearly impossible to attain that you desperately need.
Saying thank you feels like groveling, accepting it is a punch to the gut, throwing it away is impossible to think about, and using it lets Snotlout win.
Eret is in a no win situation, there's no turning back, and if he doesn't start dating Snotlout Jorgenson soon, he thinks he might explode.

Summary
Moving on is hard, especially from something that doesn’t want to be forgotten. But it’s easier when you have someone with you who understands that mind-scarring agony, it’s easier when someone will hold you in the dark when all the monsters come out to play, it’s easier when you’re loved. But Eret is going overseas and Snotlout is left alone in a cold bed.
The dream is back and he feels sick. Sick in the head. (I really can’t think of a good summary for this, so sorry my dudes)

Summary
Eret, Son of Eret, has been welcomed into the village of Berk and given the care of the dead chief's dragon. He doesn't realize how awkward that might be until his old ship has sailed off far beyond the horizon, leaving him far behind.
For an outsider, secrets that are well-hidden seem obvious in the light of day. Things that Berk thought long-buried are brought to light, sometimes kicking and screaming.
Eret just wanted to integrate into his new home. He didn't expect his definition of 'home' to center around more than a place, but a person.

Viggo considered himself a down-to-earth man. He had grown up in a tribe that shared horrifying stories about creatures that had once scared him, yet now, as the chief of the dragon hunters, he knew his place was above those beasts. He was a dragon slayer, a savior amongst his people, and he was no longer afraid of those bedtime stories of fictional dragons. After all, surely those tales were nothing but.
