Summary
The Blacksmith, in all fairness, did tell them exactly what was about to happen. The problem, really, is that when five heretofore unknown figures suddenly blip into existence a good decade and a half into the past, a lot of very powerful people notice.
And many of them are less than pleased.
Or: Those five from the Ever After, Jaune Arc, Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiao-Long, Weiss Schnee, and Ruby Rose, do not end up in Vacuo. Instead, they end up scattered across Remnant, 12 years in the past.

Ella strives to gather her memories and finally understand who she was before the attack on Beacon, but soon discovers the past might not be as simple as she'd hoped it would be. Remnant might have the Grimm out there, but Ella can't help but wonder if the real monsters are people like her.

Summary
He'd do anything for his friends. His family meant everything to him, and there was nothing he wouldn't sacrifice to keep them safe. To a fault. No distance was too far. And the universe was doing its damnest to test that theory at every turn.
The gang has pretty much settled down in Mistral. Canon has diverged (obviously), but what else can possibly go wrong? Other than Jaune getting his ass kicked at every turn, and his friends realizing he can't be left to his own devices without something going horribly wrong.
Or: If the actual writers won't conspire to injure Jaune at every turn, then I guess I'll do it myself.
