Summary
“What if you don’t need you to be pissed at me anymore, but I… do? Need you to be. Or I can’t deserve to get used to this.”
Stede receives all that, and comes out still gazing at Ed with painful sincerity. “I think I understand needing some sort of… closure. But, you know I’d do practically anything for you Ed, but I’m just not angry with you anymore. When I first found out you’d marooned most of the crew, I could’ve worked up at least a sharp slap, but now…”
Stede trails off, which is good, because Ed can’t focus anymore. The phrase “sharp slap” has just run through him like lightning, sharp and resonant.
Speaking from pure animal longing, he blurts out, “Well, could you pretend?”
.....
Ed struggles with his guilt and trauma post-reunion, and asks Stede to play out a scene where the Gentleman Pirate captures Blackbeard and makes him pay. This centers around carefully negotiated CONSENSUAL NON-CONSENT. On a wider scale, it's about learning to process trauma within a safe relationship. BDSM scene's in the third chapter.

Summary
Post-episode 10, Stede brings his rescued crew to Spanish Jackie's, where he finds an unlikely ally in Izzy Hands. Together, they agree to find Ed, and end up growing closer than either imagined.
Stede reached out, as if to run his fingers over Izzy’s scar, but thought better of it and pulled his hand away. “You, me, and Ed all have the same scar,” he observed. “Funny, you gave me mine, I gave Ed his, and he gave you yours. It makes a circle, like Ouroboros eating his own tail.”
This is centered on Izzy/Stede, leading up to eventual Stede/Izzy/Ed.
