“How’s the love life going?” Brant asked Nash, voice clearly penetrating the regular din of the main office.
“Quite okay, thanks.” Nash deadpanned back, balancing a steaming teacup, heading for his office. The separate office was the biggest perk of his promotion, the rest were more paperwork and obligations outside office hours, for a laughable excuse for a raise.
“I can be on call if there's an emergency, yeh know.”
Nash almost hit the wall; his mind blanking, tea saved by sheer miracle. The innuendo was obviously intended, as half the office were snorting out their nostrils, swearing or just looking wildly uncomfortable. Brant was delighted.

competitionconversation, both biting over more than they can chew. Pretty much business as usual, if their usual business included gratuitous porn.Written for the "Inspector Brant" book series, but should also work okay for the "Blitz (2011)" movie fandom, as long as you know that book-Brant is ten times the bastard movie-Brant is.

This fic is really about the Bayeu: it shines through the words so you can smell and taste it and the author's love for the subject is so strong that you can't help getting enamored yourself. What's even more remarkable is that the Hannibal/Will plot: where the two human predators circle, circle, and circle each other, is just as engaging and well written. I don't usually read unfinished works and even rarer recommend them, but this is a notable exception. And the author's drizzle of Louisiana lore just makes it better: music, history, nature and food culture! What a tasty morsel.

Tons of delicious tension to be found in this story; sexual, resolved and unresolved. Much like what you see in the canon FCW fights this fic tells the backstory of. And the way the author draws a consistent and moving story between the plot points and the chronological (and seriously epic) fights is truly very good.
