This isn't the darkest fic in my "basement collection", but it still is dark. It has an understated yet growing horror where our soul-bonded pair abuse themselves in sacrifice for each other, which is doubly sad. It ends hopeful, but with scars.

This is an intensely sexy roller-coaster of a fix-it. It comes with some very human, very believable stomach-punches of true heartbreak, and ends with a burning hot reckoning. Enjoy the strawberries!

Missing scenes-fic where the author explores Jim's struggle with his senses and his and Blair's relationship, chronologically and very believably.

No Big Deal is a three-part series. See No Big Deal II and No Big Deal III. My tags here go to the series in its entirety.

In the summer of 2011, psychiatrist and FBI consultant Dr. Hannibal Lecter travels with a crack forensic team to the murder capital of America to assist the New Orleans field office in hunting a possible serial killer. But bodies aren't the most interesting thing he finds when the water starts to rise.

Or, what would have happened if Will never left Louisiana?

This fic is really about the Bayeu: it shines through the words so you can smell and taste it and the author's love for the subject is so strong that you can't help getting enamored yourself. What's even more remarkable is that the Hannibal/Will plot: where the two human predators circle, circle, and circle each other, is just as engaging and well written. I don't usually read unfinished works and even rarer recommend them, but this is a notable exception. And the author's drizzle of Louisiana lore just makes it better: music, history, nature and food culture! What a tasty morsel.

    Summary

An FCW-era fic which covers from Seth and Dean's twenty-minute match for the FCW 15 championship all the way until the night before Survivor Series 2012. Sometimes, when you compete against somebody, you come to appreciate their skill. And sometimes, you even come to like them. This is how Seth and Dean learn to like each other.

Tons of delicious tension to be found in this story; sexual, resolved and unresolved. Much like what you see in the canon FCW fights this fic tells the backstory of. And the way the author draws a consistent and moving story between the plot points and the chronological (and seriously epic) fights is truly very good.
