    As if that weren’t strange enough, an unintended meet-up with Percy Jackson in a Target parking lot revealed that the demigod was hearing prayers- something that Apollo was actually not responsible for, despite what Percy seemed to think.
    Apollo didn’t need his prophetic powers to know this was going to be a looong day. But hey- at least he got to spend it with Percy. (Which, naturally, improved things considerably).

    Percy is losing pieces of himself. His kindness was stripped away in the river of pain. His hesitation eaten by a pack of hellhounds. His mercy died with whimper in an empty stone village. He only hopes there will be enough of him left when they escape.
    Annabeth did what it took to save them both, and she will never forgive herself. She remembered Hera once told Percy he would destroy the world to save her, how ironic.

    OR, an AU where Annabeth and Percy cannot just shake off the trauma of Tartarus like they do in cannon. Body horror is dialed up to 11, I've added every fucked up way to torture our protagonists that couldn't be in a YA novel. And in the end it all revolves around the relationship between Percy and Annabeth, how the trauma pushes them apart and brings them together, how far they are willing to go, and who are they willing to hurt.

    Honestly, she’s quite fed up with it. She got months of her life stolen, her memories erased, became a (temporary) praetor of Romans against her will to prevent a power-hungry schemer, went on a solo death quest from her mom, and now is plunging into Tartarus alone, hungry, and with absolutely no supplies.

    However somehow, in the most unlikely of places, she suddenly finds herself with some mysterious help.

    Now if only she could find the cause.
