He was a vampire, and banking on her not being a frothing-at-the-mouth cultist.
“Lucky guess: I’m here trying to…” And abruptly she stopped, frowning at him. “I know you.”
“Y-Yes, I think…I think I know you as well, although you weren’t a vampire when we met. I-In fact, I would have been surprised, at the time, if I were told that you would be one day. You seemed very afraid of me.”

Without opening his eyes, Fennorian let out a long, suffering sigh. Nuzzling his face deeper into the pillow he said, “There is a vampire in this bed with you.”
An old man puts ideas in Errani's head at the Shornhelm farmers market and Fennorian's words come back to haunt her while she tries to sleep.

Ilyana sighed. “Exactly. You asked me to be a member of the Ravenwatch and then you never heard from me again. Meanwhile, you were all here struggling by yourselves.”Ilyana sees Gwendis at the Belkarth Zeal of Zenithar Festival and hears the Ravenwatch aren't doing well after the events of Markarth... Fennorian in particular. And so she decides to visit the Ravenwatch.
* Based off of the small bit of dialogue we get from Gwendis at the Zeal of Zenithar Festival in Belkarth in Craglorn. (So spoilers for that interaction! Kind of.)
