It's been seven years since Luz Noceda was transported to the Isles thanks to a malfunctioning portal of an otherworldly Emperor. For seven years, she experienced and learned the wonders of magic and all that it meant. For seven years she's witnessed the pain and suffering caused by Belos. For seven years, she's longed to see her mother again.
Now with Belos dead, she takes his place as overlord of the Isles, but her reign is not unchallenged. As the brutal civil war of the Isles begins to ramp back up, she must find a way to bring unity back to the land once more. Some will see her as nothing more than Belos' successor, a threat to be eliminated. But some will begin to realize the true nature of the Isle's new ruler. And all the while, she begins drawing the attention of those from beyond...
In this world of magic, Luz has her work cut out for her in an age of usurpers.
But as long as she breathes, there will always be someone who will hail to the queen.

Now Belos is dead, his empire in shambles long before as a bloody civil war has erupted between him and the rest of the Isles, drenching the land in a sea of blood and bile. And now, Luz must reign this conflict in. But doing so won't be easy, not when she's wrapped in a plot of puppet strings. Most will see her as nothing more than another tyrant to be eliminated...but some will begin to realize the true nature of the burgeoning monarch. And all the while, those from beyond the sea begin itching at the chance to seize her throne...
Anyone else would break under such pressure...
But not Luz Noceda.

"I've looked for eight years! Eight!" She exclaimed, "I couldn't find her anywhere. I was hoping I would find her in…” Eda paused, taking a deep breath, “Did she just disappear, or did Belos do something?" Her scowl deepened, reflecting her anger and helplessness.
Amidst the tension, Amity spoke up, her voice barely above a whisper. "She's alive," she muttered, tears welling up in her eyes. "You don't know that!" King snapped, pointing a claw at Amity.
But Amity's conviction remained unwavering. "She has to be!" She insisted, the tears now streaming down her face. King's expression softened, and he stood up, wrapping his arms around Amity in a comforting embrace. "We just need to keep looking," Amity whispered, her voice filled with determination. "Luz wouldn't stop searching if any of us had gone missing. We shouldn't stop either!" Her words resonated with a mixture of hope and desperation.
OR
Luz had gone missing eight years ago, and with the defeat of Emperor Belos, Amity believes she’s still out there.

Summary
In one version of events Lilith Clawthorne is able to stay the anger of her sister's apprentice, and work with her to betray The Emperor and takes on half of her sister's curse, but what if she never got that chance.
In this version their encounter as Eda is sent to the petrification platform goes far differently, with Lilith bested by an unfortunate blow to the head and sent through the portal to prevent her 'interfering' in Eda's rescue before she can explain herself, and when that inevitable encounter with The Emperor ends the same way, she's trapped in another realm.
Without Lilith there to share that burden with her sister, and having discovered the truth of Lilith's plans far too late, there is only one way Luz can think of to save her mentor, even if it means lifelong consequences.Just how will things change with a cursed human trapped in one realm, and a repentant sister trapped in another?

This AU story covers all three seasons of both shows, on top of rewrites to some characters and plotlines.

Alador has been researching a way to reverse petrification, despite being told it’s irreversible. When Luz’s mental health suddenly takes a turn for the worse, she makes an impulsive decision which gives Alador’s research a new urgency.

Though after one hunt gone wrong, he sent his palisman off to find the human who had cared for him before. And as he sat there, alone and in pain, he realized Rascal was better off without him. rated T for some violence and minor cursing
