What happened behind the Veil, the moment Merlin came back to earth hadn't gone unnoticed. Of course, the magical world knew, Kilgharrah included. Mortal people of magic felt something they couldn't put their finger on. Druids knew and kept it in their hearts.
In the end, it was such ripple of power through the universe it attracted evil as well, although unnoticed for a long and happy time.

Summary

Summary
Merlin was confused, to say the least. When he had told Arthur of his magic, he had half expected him to kill him on the spot or banish him right then and there. He certainly never expected Arthur to speak to him again, let alone look him in the eye as he did now. He felt as through the rug would be pulled out from under him at any moment, that Arthur would reveal it was a trick. But then, he could have killed Merlin right there and Merlin would have been okay. Arthur’s hands were warm on his and his gaze was gentle. Merlin could have died happy there.
Arthur lifted his hand and wiped the dirt from Merlin’s cheek softly.I had a conversation with my friend as to what would have happened if Merlin revealed his magic to Arthur during Sword in the Stone, then of course I had to write it.

Summary
Merlin's sixteen when his life falls apart with the discovery that he's Balinor Ambrosius' son. Hogwarts isn't safe enough, so Merlin runs away. Morgana is sure that her brother Arthur would put him up for the last few months until he's of age.
(Also: Lancelot had only contacted Morgana's muggle brother to help with a Muggle Studies assignment? He hadn't expected that his Professor would be so impressed, or that it would somehow lead to him and Arthur collaborating on a series of articles for Witch Weekly and the Prophet, or that "The Muggle" would soon become a household name. And he DEFINITELY didn't think it would lead to overthrowing the Statute of Secrecy!)
