Summary
With hazy eyes, Dazai watches Chuuya against the outline of the cityscape, and he wants, the desire to connect almost oppressing inside of a body not built for such a thing.
Dazai may have decided he wanted to try living a little longer when he met Chuuya at fifteen, but it's still incredibly hard to keep feeling like that three years later. Though, that doesn't mean he won't seek Chuuya out at the end of every night, an invisible tether never allowing either of them to stray very far apart.

Kaede got upset when she didn't understand things. It made her want to cry, which made her want to clench her fists and hit something like a child. Throwing a tantrum, making noises as she rocks back and forth. But it's absurd to do that, so she swallows down the impulses, until she's alone again.
It made her mad. Or maybe, not quite. It made her something deeper than mad; it made her burn with it. Like heartburn in her chest, hot and acidic, so vibrant she sometimes wonders if it's actual heartburn. So vivid it was hard to tell apart.
Frustrating. That was the word. So much of Kaede's life was frustrating, when people looked at her like she was talking in tongues. To be misunderstood—to not know how to make herself understood, no matter how straightforward she thought she was being—it was frustrating. To not have the right words, the correct things to say, the ways to get her feelings across.
