For this reason, the Shrine of Resurrection was poorly named. True resurrection was not possible.
The creature that emerged from the Shrine might inhabit the body of the hero, but they are not the same person. -

Ever since Percy became an instructor at camp, he knew first hand how stressful it was to be in charge of the health and safety of over a hundred demigods. Which was why he offered to travel to Olympus in Chiron's place to give the Olympians the monthly status report for camp.
All he'd wanted to do was give Chiron the day off. He hadn't planned on anything exciting happening. He certainly hadn't planned on accidentally adopting the Ophiotaurus while he was there.
As usual, nothing ever goes as planned for Percy Jackson.

Hyrule stopped in his tracks at Wild’s display, his hands still outstretched. He heard gasps of awe and Warrior’s declaration of “An angel!” from behind him. As for himself, he could only gaze in awe. He had seen a few Avians in his time. They did not tend to advertise their status due to the black market hunters, but his wide travels meant that he had more opportunities to see them than most would. His previous acquaintances and the glimpse of Wild that he got in the forest did nothing to prepare him for this, for the glory of Wild’s wings in full display. So large, so unique a color, so iridescent, so beautiful.
