Summary
Many years ago black fire swept through the Whispering Woods. The Whisperer only managed to save a small portion, and it led to the establishment of WATCH. Now, many generations later, Clarence finally has a successor. A successor who has somehow slipped through everyone's fingers and gone missing.
Dakota fell, gained superpowers, and is now determined to join WATCH as a Guardian. Virion fell of the floating island he called home, and woke up in a strange place with strange new friends. And William fell off a cliff, led to his death by strange blue fireballs, and now might be the only person left capable of saving everything, if only someone can explain to him how to stop falling through the floor.
AUTHOR NOTE: Season 1/Act 1 is complete but this story will most likely be continued in the future.

They weren't supposed to be fighting Overlord. The Prime Defenders weren't supposed to be captured. So William did the only thing he could do: he ran, and made a deal with a devil.
Basically, this is a AU/What If of how I thought the fight with Overlord was going to go, with a few creative liberties and Mallard playing a much bigger roll. Enjoy.

Tango thought this would be a normal Hunt. Go to an abandoned house, fight a ghost, get help from the angel and demon that liked to follow you around, burn the ghost's body to banish them, you know, the usual. Except this ghost is a little less poltergeist-y and a lot more, well, more. Tango might be in over his head and everyone else is laughing at him.
You don't actually need to know anything about Phas or Supernatural for this to make sense :)

The Deep Frost Citadel alerted it’s Master immediately to a new arrival despite him being deep into the lowest levels of the dungeon. The Citadel had had other masters, but this one, Tango originally of the Tek but now of Deep Frost, was their favorite. And the Citadel knew, though it chose not to share this with it's Master, that this new arrival was not a simple thrill or treasure seeking adventurer. But the Citadel would allow it’s Master to learn that for himself.

It was an ambush. One Grian should have expected and didn't. Scar was trying to get to him but it was a fruitless venture. Grian tried to tell him to run, but the magic-induced exhaustion was too much to force the words out and he laid there helplessly as the Dogwarts knights pushed Scar back and back. And then Skizzle shoved Scar backwards into a ravine.

Grian is a cautious rebel leader just trying to keep innocent people alive. Scar is a rogue who accidentally fell in with the rebellion and decided to stick around. Rendog is the bloody tyrant who wants them both dead. -

Some people are born with too much soul energy, marked by white tattoos and with the ability to revive the dead. Not doing so causes an immense pain from the contained energy. Others are born with too little soul energy, marked by black tattoos and forced to drain the life energy of others to live. Dream's white marks came in when he was 12 years old. After being disowned he decided to leave home and there was no way Sapnap was letting him go alone. Especially when his own markings came in. But abilities such as theirs are highly sought after and the criminal world often steals away marked individuals.
