Summary
Louis hasn’t managed to forgive Lestat for what he did, but wants him in his life. A big part is the fear that he could be overpowered again. Lestat suggests letting Louis beat the shit out of him but that’s not what he wants… what he wants is for Lestat to experience the pain, the helplessness of the hours, days, months after. While on a hunt, Louis comes across a rat that had been poisoned, its body arching, tensing wildly, its little mind full of fear and pain. That’s how he’d felt, only he couldn’t move on account of the broken vertebrae. Louis gets a beautiful idea, a terrible idea. A beautiful, terrible, awful idea. One that is just appropriate for his beautiful, terrible lover.

Summary
Lestat is argumentative with the staff, he's giving Daniel absolute Hell, and he's prone to disappearing for hours at a time when he is supposed to be recording or rehearsing. He is self-destructing, a violent nosedive back into his worst behavior, and all of it is being filmed for the world to see.
Or, at least, that is what Louis had heard from Daniel's colorful recounting that he stubbornly beamed straight into his head.
(Or, a bad filming session brings back horrible memories for Lestat. Louis is left to pick up the pieces.)

“We used to be so in love with each other,” Lestat thought to himself, “During our honeymoon years. Why can’t we just have them again? What happened to us? What happened to our love?” He turned his head and looked at Louis, the other doing the same thing at the same time. Two beings that did their best to drift away from each other but could not help but be pulled towards the other, mirroring each other, swallowing each other without even touching. Lestat thought about asking the questions that just passed through his head out loud, throwing them at Louis just to see what the other would do with them. “Do you want to move to the backseat?”, he asked instead.

During an interview with Daniel, Lestat gets a call that Louis is going to pay him a visit. What follows is a night filled with desperation, delusions and the exchange of bodily fluids on the backseat of Louis's Porsche.

“This isn’t working,” Daniel says, and Armand snaps, “I heard you the first time.”
They’re wrapped up together in bed. Daniel has his head pressed to Armand’s bare chest, Armand’s strong arms encircling him, their legs tangled together. It should be perfect.
The only problem: Armand is fucking freezing.
OR: Daniel’s in Calgary reporting on the ‘88 Winter Olympics when the heat goes out in his motel room. Warmth seeking activities ensue.

Louis was not feeling especially charitable towards him at the moment, so as far as true love’s kiss went (a cliche, as if getting cursed wasn't bad enough), Lestat would be getting nowhere.
But it didn’t matter at all. Lestat was scared and miserable and he had a tail and he needed to see him.
Lestat gets on the bad side of a witch. Louis, against his better judgement, gets a cat.
