Summary
A frantic flight from Doriath culminates in the arrival of Oropher's ragtag band of refugees at the eaves of the Greenwood. A young Thranduil stumbles upon the current inhabitants of the forest and finds himself swept up in their society and culture. What follows is an ages-spanning story of love and acceptance, grief and loss.
This is the first part of possibly my most epic story to date, and the first new LOTR story I've written in 20 years. Enjoy. :)

Canon setting enemies to lovers Shadowzel.
Lae'zel POV.This can be seen as a companion piece to my long BG3 fic, False Dichotomy, but you'll still be able to follow everything without reading that. We'll be seeing certain parts of the Tadpole Gang's adventures from Lae'zel's POV as well as including new scenes that wouldn't have worked in False Dichotomy from a Shadowheart POV.

Summary
Early in the Second Age, Thranduil follows his parents' expedition to relocate his surviving people to Greenwood the Great. Thranduil and his people search for the wood elves - their distant kin - hoping for their help. Instead, they meet Rauwen, a young Silvan leader who is skeptical about welcoming strangers into her beloved forest. As the Sindar survivors and the Silvan locals negotiate sharing space, sparks will fly - but will someone get burned?
