Rin snarled at that. The stupid humans sounded way to much like the demon he had just finished fighting. Everything hit him at that moment, and Rin was pissed.
“Screw you old man!!!” He screamed, voice cracking in his bleeding throat.
The exorcists gaped, looking genuinely surprised by the outburst.
Then the idiot had to go and start laughing. “Old man!? Is that the best you got!!?? Bwahahahahahaha!!!!! My cat can do better than that!!!!”
Rin hissed furiously, hackles raising in defense and hunkering down on the road simultaneously. He was going to kill somebody. No, he was going to run. But first he was going to kill somebody.
The man wiped tears out of his eyes as his laughter trickled away. “Oh, man. You’re funny kid! Now be a good demon and turn yourself in.”
Rin hissed.
The man sighed amusedly, and took up his riffle. “Well then, okay.”

He reached out a hand and brushed his thumb across the tear streaks on Eddie’s cheek, and as he did so, he felt it—the faintest hint of a breath.
His heart leapt in his chest and he pressed his fingers against Eddie’s neck, struggling for a moment to find it, but there it was. Faint and struggling to keep going, but it was a heartbeat. That tiny little heartbeat—still running—gave him all the hope he needed.
“Jesus Christ, Dustin, you always gotta check!” Steve cried, tears streaking down his cheek as he pulled Eddie into his arms and stumbled to his feet, barely able to steady his arms enough to carry the boy.

Opening his eyes fully, he saw the area he was placed on. There were no traditional beds in the room, instead there was one big nest in the center of the room - which he was laying on now. They were some of the softest blankets he had ever felt. Slowly running a hand over one of the blankets, he gripped it and pulled it over himself, trying to maintain any sense of modesty he may still have. It was a pretty purple blanket, he kinda liked it.
A grunting noise threw him out of his sense of false calm as he quickly gripped the blanket up over his chest as snapped his head up, meeting not one, not two, but four sets of eyes all staring at him interested and… was that confusion? Maybe even a little concern?
