我对Veilguard极其失望。在一言难尽的失望原因之中，Veilguard的lore表现水平和codex写作方向给我带来的失望夹杂着最多的滑稽色彩。
如果说前几作里铺垫好的北塞各国风貌初始设定、续作主干情节和矛盾走向、以及关键角色刻画延续性的彻底丧失是我锥心痛恨的主要来源，而Veilguard对北塞各国看似全覆盖实则打卡敷衍的刻画则令我发笑。故事聚焦在了北塞达斯，但对北塞达斯各国的政治、地理、民情、社会面貌等等方面的具体介绍却乏善可陈——就拿塔文特举例子吧。谁敢相信呢，主角都在塔文特皇国首都逛街了，（尤其是精灵主角）都喊得出for minrathous了，都能莫名其妙地钦定大执政官了，游戏给出的有关皇国安教会、皇国体制运作细节、皇国地理文化概况、皇国世情面貌之类的信息却依然无限接近于零；塔文特皇国安教会的体系是什么样的，有没有特色职位？皇国法环和皇国安教会之间的关系是怎样的，Laetan法师在理想情况下会如何升迁？法师的人口比例是多少，有没有成建制的法师作战部队？哈哈，竟然什么都没有！
Veilguard在对应领域的写作质量简直烂到了一个 我 上 我 也 行 的地步。因此，我将毫无愧怍地直接编新Lore，而对于Veilguard吃的那些书和用核弹暴力“填平”的那些坑，我也将毫无愧怍地直接扔了重写。Series

All but one seems to question the promises of these tech giants. When a strange new automaton is brought in for diagnostics, with freckled skin that betrays the manufactured mass of wires lying beneath, Evelyn finds that everything she thought she knew will be turned upside down, head over heels.
Evelyn stares blankly into the stormy sea, their gaze meeting.
“The difference is that my central nervous system isn’t a mass or wires and code.”
“No,” it grins again, a slight upturn. “I suppose it would not seem that way to you.”
Her eyes sharpen to a glare. “So, what– there’s no difference between us at all?”
“None more than the sum of any other creatures, when compared.”

‘Yes,' Solas says quietly. 'I believe that everyone on this boat has a secret.'
Felassan raises an eyebrow. ‘Even you?’
Solas looks out across the river, and for a moment he is dizzy with the way the waves beckon him, the little lies they tell in every shift of the tide. He should deny it, but he finds that he cannot.
‘Most especially me,' he says heavily.Solas is a famous detective with a troubled history dating back to the wars that destroyed his homeland. When he embarks on a cruise along the Enavuris River to pursue a lead in his most recent case, he encounters a passionate love triangle which comes to a fatal end.
Complicating the tragedy is the fact that the victim Justinia, heiress to the Chantry fortune, was murdered with Solas’ own gun. And then there’s the problem of his extremely inconvenient attraction to the prime suspect, Jacqueline Lavellan.
As the cruise continues through the wilderness, rapidly approaching the Veil that separates the south of Thedas from the mysterious north, Solas races to uncover the truth before the killer can strike again.

Summary
Three hundred years ago, Fen'harel successfully tore down the Veil he created to sunder the physical world from the Fade. Since then, he has tried time and time again to heal some of the damage he's made to the world and to himself, to no avail. His heart remains in the past, with a mortal woman who he loved for so short a time—Inquisitor Ellana Lavellan.
Three hundred years later, Ellana should be dead. Instead, she wakes up to a foreign and destroyed world full of spirits and elves living harmoniously. Humans and Qunari are a dying race, and the land is being ruled by two gods who hate one another. She finds herself being used as a pawn against the man she's certain has forgotten her; after all, what are three centuries against a year-long affair?

There are some spoilers regarding the lore that was revealed in the Veilguard, but otherwise this is canon-divergent from that game.

Summary
The village of Crestwood, population 2300, had not seen a murder in sixteen years. But two grisly deaths, the gruesome manner almost identical but seemingly no link between the victims created a stir that law enforcement could not ignore.
Enter renowned serial killer hunter Ellana Lavellan, a tenacious and determined detective sent on temporary reassignment to the Podunk town in the middle of void-forsaken nowhere. There she meets an array of mostly friendly faces eager for her knowledge and expertise, in over their heads in the bizarre case splashed all across the tabloids. Friendly faces all, except the local lead pathologist and adjunct professor, a Dr Solas Wolff; MD, PhD, who would make his disdain and displeasure for her presence known vigorously and often.
A classic whodunit it, with an added spanner in the works of a simmering tension between the detective nicknamed 'Mabari' and the Professor she nicknamed 'Doc'.

Summary
In this paper, we present a unifying theory of the blight that positions it as a corruption of the ancient isatunoll, or collective hivemind consciousness, of the Titans and their descendants. We propose that this isatunoll, sundered from the Titans and cast into the Fade by the Evanuris and then further altered to incorporate the Taint, constitutes the blight as it is known today. Additionally, we propose that the Joining ritual of the Order of the Grey Wardens serves to inoculate those who survive it against further corruption by the Taint via a sympathetic bond with the archetypal isatunoll. Finally, we provide reasoning to suggest that the Joining can only be survived by those with latent genetic heritage derived from the Titans themselves, whether directly (as with the dwarva) or via the ancient elvhen people who constructed physical bodies from lyrium, the blood of the Titans.

⌛Book 3Sometime during 2020 I discovered an infamous series of online comics, showing this strange, Twilight Zone universe, one in which Sokka and Katara are fighting for an evil Water Tribe whilst Aang is travelling the world with a good Azula and Zuko. Reading a few chapters of the fanfiction it was based on, I quickly discovered a message from the author Ogro/Baithin, who apparently abandoned the fic and gave his blessings for others to do with the premise whatever they wanted.
I set out to create a remake, one with a structure that more closely resembles ATLA’s TV show format. On the verge of uploading my first chapter, I found out the original Distorted Reality had been continued. Encouraged by Ogro himself, I went ahead with my version of the story anyway.
I originally uploaded the first chapter on 2/1/2021 on fanfiction.net. It has since grown to an enormous size, and I’m enormously happy with how it’s turning out with time, both as an ATLA fanfic, as a reimagining of DR, and as just my own little story and universe.
Just take your time with it. It's a long one.

The Dalish ones she heard time and time again at the Keeper’s side, in which he prowled the darkness, a lonely and jealous wolf, peering always to the crackling campfire because he had no kith and no kin; the older ones, gleaned from fragmentary texts in hidden grottoes and ancient libraries, in which a man took up a heavy mantle and forged himself a sword, and with the blood of his life he made and spent his friends in the shadows, fighting his long undefeat; the ones from her waking life, where he waited at the sidelines of her throne room wearing the skin of a friend, all the while steadily moving them like pawns towards the confluence of disaster; and still there were others that she did not know, not being educated in Towers or Palaces or Circles, the stories pulled out of the Fade by Orlesian poets or Tevinter playwrights, where a reluctant rebel sought to take down the gods and spread the fires of divinity amongst his people, only to rip open the seams that held their world.
Solas falls in love. Solas walks into the Veil. Solas soothes the blight.

Professor Solas is the foremost expert on Ancient Arlathan history and has been teaching for longer than anyone can, or should, remember. While he’s come to prefer his quiet, repetitive, and predictable life, a new professor (who's clearly wrong about everything) throws a wrench into his plans and changes his life forever.
An AU University setting where most of the Inquisition are teachers and most of the Veilguard are students. A lot of crack, mostly comedy, and a solid dash of Solavellan angst and/or smut. Spawned from the minds of a handful of feral Solavellans, this series of vignettes eventually takes on a life of its own and becomes an alternate timeline reinterpretation of the events of both Inquisition and Veilguard.

Ellana Lavellan is one of two apprentices to her clan’s Keeper, and not the most skillful of the pair. She expects to be sent away after failing to earn a place as First, but when she stumbles upon an ancient shrine to Fen’Harel and inadvertently summons the Dread Wolf himself, she finds in him a wealth of powerful, forgotten magics. He’ll teach her, if she makes a suitable offering: herself.
Ellana returns to the shrine again and again, summoning Fen’Harel to teach her more, but time works differently on the other side of the eluvian; centuries pass for him while only weeks go by for her. As she grows to know him as Solas, she discovers that the Creators are not the benevolent deities she believed them to be, and that the Dread Wolf is a man she can love.
What comfort can a mere Dalish mage offer a rebel god? More than either of them ever expected.

If he considered it, it was not for long. Soon his shoulders would square, his chin turning up in that way she knew so well. The return of Pride. No matter the instance, it would always come back to this:
She, reaching out, begging him to choose their love. He, leaning in, only for a fraction of a moment, and then no more.
"Ir abelas, vhenan... but I cannot." He kept his eyes away, his face and body turned. "Long before we met I... failed my oldest friend. She died for that failure," he explained. "If I leave the Veil in place, I am destroying the world she wanted. And I will have," he stuttered, "she, will have died for nothing."
Her heart was breaking. Before her and inside her. Her Pride was shattered. So, it would make sense now to turn away. All the same, she would sooner be destroyed at his heel than alone in a world without him.
There was no honour in it, sure, but it was the truth of the thing.
She would allow him his final betrayal. She would accept it; forgive it as the price of loving him.
