Maybe she’d said that last part a little too gleefully. In any case, Ross narrowed his eyes. “Do you have a suggestion?”

When House woke up, he was met with a familiar, whining, screaming, pain in his thigh. He groaned and rolled over in bed, fumbling for a bottle of Vicodin on the bedside table. His hand ran across the weathered wood until it found it's plastic prize.
This was the beginning of a very bad, no fun, no good, god damning day. Have you ever been to a funeral with those stupid slideshows with the “inspirational music” behind them? Same vibe. Sad and gross.

All this time, he realizes— all this time, he's been making the choice to take the high road, to be the person for her that he wishes he had when he was going through the same things she's going through. He wants to allow his anger to destroy all of that because he knows he owes her nothing.
But that's not true either, because he owes her everything. She's the puzzle piece that fits them all together. She makes Wilson happy. She makes Wilson feel loved and respected and cared for in ways that House couldn't achieve on his own. And instead of holding that over him and taking Wilson for herself, she opened her arms and brought them together. Not for herself, not even for House. She did it for Wilson. At the end of the day, they're both on the same team, if at least for him.
The journey of House, Wilson, and Amber's relationship as they navigate the aftermath of the bus crash together.

It wasn’t House’s job to take care of Wilson. Hell, most of the time House couldn’t even properly take care of himself by his roommate’s own standards. But there were only so many days he could watch Wilson mope around the house, barely moving unless it’s to walk down the hall to the bathroom, only eating if it’s something directly within reach of the couch, not changing clothes, and certainly not showering, before he felt the need to intervene.
