Soap can’t sleep, and discovers that Ghost can’t sleep either. They’ve agreed to bury the feelings they know that they have for each other because fraternisation results in dishonourable discharge, and the military is their everything. But sofa surfing is innocuous enough, no? And what’s a little sleeping together between friends? Fellas, is it gay to love your homie and do everything in your power to make sure he catches some Zs?
Set after the events of CRUSH., and it heavily references the injuries (both physical and psychological) that Ghost sustains in that fic. You can read either Ghost POV or Soap POV of CRUSH. first, but I do recommend starting there. I didn’t know when I wrote CRUSH. that Simon is buried alive in his origin stories, the man cannot catch a damn BREAK!?!?! Sorry Simon :( This is inspired by the song 5AM by Amber Run, hence the chapter titles. It’s Soap POV ♥

Or: Two years after season 8, a Blade mission goes wrong, and Keith is perceived to be dead. Lance refuses to believe that, and goes in search of him. What he finds, however, is worse than anything he imagined.

When he was told that there was a couple that was interested in adopting him, while he was surprised, he didn’t let himself get his hopes up. It had been a while since anyone had tried to outright adopt him. After many failed matches and dissolved adoptions, Keith learned to be numb to it.
No point in getting emotionally invested when he would most likely end up back at the group home.

Summary
When Lance is thrown through time, he finds himself one year in the future, in place of the Lance that should be here.
He finds his team to be remarkably familiar, yet distinctly different. They have more scars, a better grip on the whole saving the universe thing, and over a year’s worth of teamwork to bind them together. But the weirdest part? Keith seems to be a lot more touchy with him. Not that he’s complaining… much.
The team must try and work out how to reverse the two Lance’s places and restore them to their original timelines. But despite the fact that they’re still his friends, Lance can’t help but feel a little out of place among a team that’s been through so much with a Lance that just isn’t him. And it doesn’t help that the team is on edge around him, refusing to tell him anything for fear of influencing and changing the past. Things get even more complicated when they have to rely on the team in the past to complete the switch, leaving Lance to little more than sit, wait, and attempt to fill in his future self’s shoes.
