    Summary

    In the beautiful city of Towa, past hotels and restaurants and apartment buildings sticky with memory and more blood than its citizens would care to know, there is a tall, darkened building. This building houses the Kamukura Institute, a research facility for the paranormal, strange, and mysterious. The top floors of this Institute teem with researchers and secretaries and paperwork, a bustling office of the macabre, but, below all that, there is the Archives. Here lie statements from the general masses, people who saw things that they shouldn't have and could go nowhere else. Of course, every Archive is only so good as its Archivist.

    Kyoko Kirigiri has only had the job - complete with a team of research assistants, a mess of unorganized statements higher than she is tall, and a healthy supply of tape recorders - for a short while, but she figures that she's up to the task.

    Speculative Season 2 fic that attempts high character fidelity, ensemble cast, and as much smut as I can wedge between all this plot! While we all anticipate the inevitable renewal and release of a Season 2 (and 3) this little author will attempt to fill in What Happens Next with as much fidelity to characters as a solitary writer might. The only divergence, for this is a fanfic, will be more explicit depictions of sex. This is because 1) it's hot [to me], and 2) sex can be a critical tool in relationships. OFMD is a study in relationships and I will do my best to have sexually active, healthy, joyful characters as well as those who are asexual, aromantic, or simply not interested just yet.

    "Come on, Merlin," said Gwaine, pulling Merlin onto his lap. "You're making us look bad."

    "If the prince's armour isn't cleaned to his standards, I'll tell him it's all your fault," Merlin laughed, nonetheless taking the tankard of cider that Percival offered him.

    "We will cover for you," promised Lancelot. "You are our mascot, after all."

    "Mascot?" sniffed Merlin, screwing up his face.

    "No, he's more like a good luck charm," said Gwaine, ruffling his hair.

    "Excuse me!" huffed Merlin.

    "Maybe a pet?" offered Leon.

    "How about a valued member of the team?" suggested Merlin, throwing up his hands in exasperation.

    "They're not mutually exclusive," Elyan commented.
