Bolt, Mittens and Rhino decide to play an indoor game of Rhino Ball. Again. This time with extra bubble wrap. They broke an ornate figurine the last time they played, but surely nothing can go wrong if they are more careful this time, right?

Summary
Strange happenings are afoot in the Forrester household. Things are moving by themselves. More specifically, a family portrait on the end of the second bookshelf is moving very slightly on its own. Bolt and Rhino have concluded that the only possible explanation is that a disgruntled spirit has taken up residence on that shelf.
They are convinced that they are right, in spite of the merciless jabs from Mittens and the preponderance of common sense that says they are not. And they will go to any stupid lengths to prove their case.
And who's to say they're actually wrong?

Summary
As the three pets are playing a round-robin story game, it becomes clear that Bolt has minimal life experience when his stories are all drawn from scenes in his show. Naturally, Mittens teases him about it, but Bolt later confides in Rhino that he feels like a bit of a fraud, and he's afraid that Mittens -- who led a genuine life of hard knocks -- might not feel a connection with him.
When the cat becomes elusive, and even evasive over the next few days, Bolt becomes more certain that there is a rift growing between them.
Normal dogs don't suffer this kind of social anxiety, but Bolt is no ordinary dog.
And then things take a predictably dumb turn.

Summary
A dog, a hamster, a cat, a girl, and her mom are on the road, driving through countryside that - but for the presence of civilization - could be called desolate. As the miles roll by and they realize that they are stuck together with only each others' company in the comparatively comfortable cabin of an easily-escapable modern car, a single, nagging question hangs in the claustrophobic air between them: "Are we there yet?"

Summary
When Bolt gets some side-work promoting dog food, he learns to his chagrin that the advertisers have misrepresented him in a rather embarrassing fashion.
Rather than being sympathetic, Mittens makes no bones about the fact that she thinks the pooch is overreacting, and she mercilessly teases him to the point of snapping.
When Rhino does some digging, he realizes there is more to her meanness than the cat is letting on - perhaps even to herself.

Summary
Bolt, Mittens and Rhino act as foils for a bit of fun with different poetic styles.
There is even almost a short tale buried in there if you look hard enough.
I would not call this high art, but I had fun writing it. Each pet has its own meter and style when the focus is on them.

Summary
Bolt finally manages to get both of his fuzzy friends up to the family cabin in the mountains, but his obsession over keeping Penny safe from mundane chores leads to conflict and misadventure. For those wondering about the title, I decided not to post Part 2 because it was just a lot of driving, and various characters whining, "are we there yet?"
This is functionally the sequel to The Cabin In The Woods, but I wrote this story so that it would stand on its own if you missed the prequel. (But the other one is a fun story too, so I recommend it! ;)

Summary
Penny's mom inherits a cabin from somebody who is ostensibly a relative. Then nothing happens. This is one of those character-driven stories where there's lots of talking and hurt and comfort and stuff.
Edit: One of my beta readers has told me that my summary might not draw in a reader. Try this:
Imagine if the movie "Bolt" had been the product of some experimental mid-century Swedish director, with lots of essentially static, stark black and white moments with a split-screen of two actors' faces against a Stygian background, one facing right and the other facing the viewer. Their pallid visages betray no emotion as they stoically talk over each other, voicing their feelings of emptiness and ennui in the face of a meaningless existence. They end by saying, "I am alone, even when we are together" in unison.
Now imagine if this story is nothing like that, other than lots of dialogue and character interaction. And a hamster and a dog and a cat.

Summary
This is a short ditty about Mittens sitting in the front window, watching a bird going about its business on the front lawn.
I am posting this at the urging of the author for whom I beta.
I penned it for him as a silly response to a much more sophisticated poem that he wrote on the same theme, but he feels that this one good enough to share as well.

Summary
When Bolt and Rhino cajole Mittens into explaining why she feels a certain kinship with the Disney villain Mirage from the Aladdin TV cartoon series, she reluctantly tells them her backstory, from the day she was adopted until Bolt met her living in the streets of New York.
Bolt suspects that she may not be the most reliable narrator, and he points out that parts of her story (i.e., all the parts) do not match with the bits that he already knows.
The cat relents and tells a second story that - true or not - sounds much more plausible.
In the end, though, who are we to deny somebody the life they wanted rather than the life they got?
